5 stars This is a Great Movie
This movie kept me interested throughout the entire film. Michael Hutchence gives a brilliant performance as the poet Percy Shelly. It's a shame this mans life ended before a brilliant film career could begin.

Don Coscarelli's BUBBA HO-TEP finds Elvis Presley (Bruce Campbell) alive but not so well, living in a small Texas nursing home. Although he's preoccupied with his ailments and his memories, the elderly Elvis befriends another resident who thinks he's John F. Kennedy (Ossie Davis) when they both begin to suspect that their neighbors aren't dying of natural causes. Their investigation leads to the discovery of an evil mummy with a fondness for cowboy gear and an appetite for the souls of senior citizens. Armed with little more than a walker and a wheelchair, the King and JFK must take on this ancient evil. Based on a short story by Joe R. Lansdale, BUBBA HO-TEP mixes comedy, drama, and horror to create a remarkably quirky film. As the aged and ailing Elvis, Campbell gives an outstandingly funny and poignant performance, while Davis exudes intelligence and warmth as JFK. Although horror is a key element of the story, much of the movie focuses on the life of Elvis and his new friendship with the former president, leading to many oddly comical scenes and even a few genuinely touching moments. Of course, their embalmed foe and his creepy minions must be confronted, making ...

Based on both the short story by John W. Campbell, Jr. and the 1951 film produced by Howard Hawks, THE THING is John Carpenter's stunning masterpiece of horror. A group of weary scientists enduring the winter in an isolated camp deep in Antarctica chance upon an alien spacecraft buried in the ice. Near the strange craft is the body of an alien being, frozen solid. Thinking they have made the find of a lifetime, the scientists bring the alien body back to camp and thaw it out. The alien awakens, not in the best of moods, and proceeds to take over the identities of the scientists, one by one, body and all. Helicopter pilot MacCready (Kurt Russell) must lead the surviving men in discovering who among them is human and who is not and how they can destroy "the thing" before it takes them all and moves on to the heavily populated mainland and the rest of humanity. Rob Bottin supplies the awe-inspiring special effects of the creature in its many, ever-changing forms. The effects were groundbreaking at the time and hold up flawlessly over the passing years. But Carpenter does not rely solely on special effects, utilizing his spectacular cast, which includes Wilford Brimley and Richard Dysart, ...

The follow-up to his 2003 horror hit HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, Rob Zombie's THE DEVIL'S REJECTS continues the story of a bizarre group of very odd people who like to torture, maim, and kill virtually everyone they come in contact with. When Sheriff Wydell (William Forsythe) pays a visit to the body-ridden lair of Mother Firefly (Leslie Easterbrook, taking over the role played by Karen Black in the first film), her children Otis (Bill Moseley) and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie) are forced to run, eventually holing up in a roadside motel with four hostages (including Clint Eastwood regular Geoffrey Lewis and THREE'S COMPANY star Priscilla Barnes). Seeking help from creepy clown Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), they continue their murderous rampage while being tracked by Wydell, who is hellbent on avenging the death of his brother, which came at the hands of this very weird and dangerous family. As Wydell tortures Mother Firefly for answers, Otis and Baby torture their hostages for kicks. Zombie, a heavy metal musician who leads the group White Zombie, infuses his exciting, funny, and terrifying gorefest with a fabulous 1970s soundtrack, using such songs as Elvin Bishop's "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" and David Essex's "Rock On" at inappropriately riotous moments. Part BONNIE AND CLYDE, part THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, part THE WILD BUNCH, Zombie's ...
