The band personally sat down to choose each track from their prolific history of multi-platinum albuns, number one singles, and unique B-sides to create this 18 track CD with bonus DVD including EPK, 4 minute trailer for the documentary, and 2 live video tracks. Also included is a 32-page booklet. Oasis - Stop The Clocks Video Oasis - Stop The Clocks Movie Review Average Rating: (2.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Stop Crying Your Hearts Out, Fans Okay, so we all own the studio albums by Oasis. This is what the band considers to be their best work, which is really what a "best of" is about, more so than what we as fans consider their best, since we all have our favorites. It's an excellent crash course for anyone who is only knows "Wonderwall," which is a lot of people. I convinced many friends to pick this up in order to get them into Oasis and now they love them so it serves its purpose. I think it's an awesome collection of songs, even though many of my favorites aren't on it but it's not like I don't already own them. Personally, I think the DVD is worth the cost alone but if you want to complain about the track listing, it's listed here and on the back of the CD so if you don't like it, don't buy it. Plain and simple. Submitted by Chris (Los Angeles, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This is a "HITS" collection? Being a fairly standard fan of OASIS, and patiently waiting for a "Best of...or "Greatest Hits" ---this compilation is MISSING greats like"Don't Go Away","Roll with It","Little by Little","Hindu Times","All Around the World","Stop Crying your Heart Out","Whatever" ...(and a few more obvious?!)....wait for more of an anthology from the band --this isnt worth it Submitted by naitchboy (Fredericton, NB, Canada) Was This Review Helpful? Alot is missing... I guess somebody forgot that Oasis released an album called Be Here Now in 1997. I guess that certain somebody also forgot what a good album that was. Not one song from that record is represented here. Only one song from HeathenChemistry! Pathetic! This CD is strictly for non-fans. Submitted by JohnJay (Bristol, RI, USofA) Was This Review Helpful? A Casual Oasis Fan's Pot o' Gold This is a fantastic collection of Oasis songs, but there are just too many good Oasis tunes over their 12 years to condense their career thus far into a single CD. Any solid Oasis fan knows this. Their best album is still the gritty, in-your-face "Definitely Maybe" from 1994 (which is better than Nirvana's "Nevermind" any way one slices it). Nonetheless, this compilation is for those who have not followed Oasis after the "Morning Glory" album of 1995. Oasis's strength, beyond the albums, had always been their B-sides, which are better than most current band's A-sides. As with other band's greatest hits (i.e. REM, Nirvana), there are no new songs on this album in order to shamelessly market it--just a couple B-sides and an unreleased A-Side that a fan in the USA may never have been exposed to. Kudos to Noel Gallagher for his choice to respect Oasis fans rather than bilking them for $15.00 in order to get ONE new song! In essence, it's a great CD for the casual fan; for hardcore Oasis folks, like me, it's not needed. But it's an automatic 5 stars. Just cool to know they're still an elite, significant group worldwide. Submitted by Mark S (Aurora, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Oasis - Stop The Clocks DVD
$12.49 William Cepeda directs this ensemble of singers and percussionists. Though he himself is known for playing trombone and conch shells, that part of his instrumental self is barely utilized. Instead he, Antonio Martinez, Nellie Lebron, Roberto Cepeda, Hector Matos and Hector Calderon sing while Calderon, Luis Cepeda, and Angel Mojica play up a storm on Puerto Rican percussion instruments like the bomba drum, maraca, guiro, and pandereta. There's also a large compliment of additional singers, percussionists, and dancers who also sing, making for a huge sound. At the center of this folkloric Puerto Rican music are the bomba and plena rhythms, and the chanting of unison voices that have many stories to tell, and rituals to demonstrate. There's the depitcion of a cockfight, with roosters crowing and bettors arguing for "Meliton Tombe," a black slave's story, forceful and angry in enunciation during "Majestad ...
| | David Bowie Best Of Bowie CDs (2002) Bonus CD; Remastered; 2 CDS
Oasis - Stop The Clocks movie DVD
$19.49 This edition of BEST OF BOWIE will only be available 12.2.2003-3.31.2004.
Ably serving as a substitute for the excellent but out-of-print collection BOWIE: THE SINGLES 1969-1993, the two-CD BEST OF BOWIE serves as an outstanding career-spanning retrospective featuring material from as recent as 2002. Above all reflecting the visionary aptitude of a restless creative genius who switched into different musical guises the way some people change suits, these 38 cuts trace David Bowie's path from space-rock folkie ("Space Oddity") and glam god ("Ziggy Stardust") to blue-eyed soulster ("Young Americans"), and cutting-edge futurist ("Fashion").
21st-century kids might be aware of Bowie via covers by Nirvana ("The Man Who Sold The World") or the Wallflowers ("Heroes"), but it's equally likely they've heard playlist war-horses like '80s alt-pop classics "Let's Dance," "Modern Love," and "China Girl." Not to be missed are this icon's stellar collaborations with a wide range of talent including John Lennon ("Fame"), Queen ("Under Pressure"), Mick Jagger ("Dancing In The Streets"), and The Pat Metheny Group ("This Is Not America"). The latter material rounding out this collection is equally deserving of attention whether it's the howling nihilism of Bowie's group Tin Machine ("Under The God"), a Nine Inch Nails industrial-rock team-up ("I'm Afraid Of Americans [V1]"), or the 2002 reunion with '70s collaborator Tony Visconti ("Slow Burn").
Although not as comprehensive as its two-CD sibling of the same name, the single-disc BEST OF BOWIE serves as an outstanding career-spanning retrospective reflecting the visionary aptitude of a restless creative genius who switched into different musical guises the way some people change ...
