A powerful love story and heart-wrenching biopic. The birth of a superstar. Jennifer Lopez's groundbreaking performance headlines this vibrant film. The story of the singer whose life tragically ended just as she was reaching her dreams. Pulsating with Selena's voice on the soundtrack, the film recreates the life of a little girl who dreamed big and whose concerts became electrifying events. In the title role, Jennifer Lopez is herself electrifying. Newly re-mastered, this 2-disc Special Edition includes the never-before-released Extended/Director's Cut version, new interviews with Selena's family and Jennifer Lopez and clips from Selena's last performance! A celebration of the life of Tejano princess Selena Quintanilla Perez, the rising star who was gunned down by the president of her own fan club in 1995. Amid the racial tensions and economic hardships of 1980's south Texas, the daughter of a Mexican immigrant (himself a failed doo-wop singer) grow up to be a sensation in the blossoming Tejano scene before meeting a tragic end. Light on insight, this biopic revels rather in Selena's on-stage achievements. Selena's father is credited as an executive producer to this film. Selena Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) OUTSTANDING I have been a Selena fan for years and this DVD is a great addition to a collection or to those just discovering Selena! Her family and Warner Bros. did an amazing job with this 10th Ann. special. It has interviews with all of the actors and her family members. It is a great way to learn more about Selena. Another reason to buy this DVD is because it has deleted scenes and an extended version of the film. I belive that everyone should buy this DVD! SELENA FOREVER.. Selena's story lives on & Jennifer Lopez's finest moment Selena is an amazing, moving, & enjoyable movie for not just fans of Selena but for the whole family.
It delivers the true story of Selena's life with the help of the fantastic cast. Edward James Olmos plays Mr. Quintanilla, Constance Marie plays Mrs. Quintanilla, & in the title role Jennifer Lopez plays Selena with real heart. All the cast deliver great & convincing performances in their roles.
There is no dought that this is Jennifer Lopez's finest moment in her acting career, she played Selena with such heart, warmth & joyfulness that it's like Selena & Jennifer came together during this movie. The music sounds really great during the concert scenes & Jennifer Lopez captures Selena's mannerisms on spot & at times you're mind can play tricks on you with which one is Selena.
It's a shame that Selena's beautiful life 7 amazing music career ended so wrongly.
Overall This movie is an amazing, uplifting, & wonderful & sad story
that truely show's the american dream.

Fantastic! Such a sad story! I fell in love with Selena because this movie portrayed her to be the most beautiful, talented and successful latino performer. I envy her life as someone who struggled in her lifehood to become what she has became! I enjoyed this movie very much and will watch it over and over again! Congradulations to Jennifer Lopez as she did a superb job in her performance as Selena! Submitted by Scott - Magoo7985 (Avon, Mass) Was This Review Helpful? | | Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King DVD (2003)
Selena review
$23.39 THE RETURN OF THE KING, the third and final film in Peter Jackson's THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy, finds Middle-earth on the cusp of great change. Weary hobbits Frodo (Elijah Wood) and Sam (Sean Astin) venture further into the dark realm of Mordor, guided by the increasingly desperate Gollum (Andy Serkis), the two-faced former owner of the Ring that Frodo must destroy in the fires of Mount Doom. Meanwhile Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and Pippin (Billy Boyd) contend with the deranged ruler Denethor (John Noble) at the once-mighty city of Minas Tirith, as Merry (Dominic Monaghan) joins Éowyn (Miranda Otto) and the Riders of Rohan to hold back the forces of Sauron. Amidst the chaos, Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) must rise to his destiny, aided by Legolas (Orlando Bloom) and Gimli (John Rhys-Davies) in assembling allies for a massive battle that will decide the fate of Middle-earth.
With RETURN, Jackson brings J.R.R. Tolkien's world-renowned tale to a stunning conclusion. As with THE TWO TOWERS, the director deftly weaves various storylines together in one remarkable scene after another. Spectacular visuals complement Jackson's sharp focus on the characters and their emotional battles. While the special effects help to create huge battles and frightening creatures on a previously unseen scale, they never outshine the excellent ensemble of actors who bring the heart of the story home. A truly astounding work of filmmaking, THE RETURN OF THE KING skillfully concludes one of the greatest trilogies in cinema history.
