Otis Blackwell CD discography Artist (along with Leiber & Stoller and a few others) is to rock & roll songwriting what D.W. Griffith is to cinema--one of the pioneers who invented the grammar of the genre. Providing the bridge between R&B and early rock & roll, Blackwell wrote many of the '50s classics recorded by Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and others. His own slim discography as a performer is impressive as well.
