Brother Cane music CDs. WISHPOOL makes no bones about its intentions. It's a hard rock album, pure and simple. The band takes its cues from post-Seattle grunge, but without the implied decadence. Though their sound is a variation on the gloomy, stylized sound of Alice In Chains, particularly in Damon Johnson's Layne Staley-esque vocals, Brother Cane streamlines things a bit more. WISHPOOL is an album with all the edges sanded. The simple, unpretentious arrangements eliminate anything other than the rocking necessities.
