Although his output is held in high esteem, he is best known for his appearances on the BBC comedy, The Goon Show in the '50s. First time on CD for this Ember album from the British Jazzster, originally released in the '60s. 2008 reissue featuring eleven bonus tracks. This album features compositions from some of the most relevant contemporary writers of the day (Lionel Bart, Crewe-Gaudio etc.) and it contains the four 45s that he released on Ember including the top British hit "The Madison", as revived in the John Waters film Hairspray.
