Galaxie 500 Biography
Although the term "shoegazer" is most often associated with British indie bands of the early 1990s, Boston trio Artist's dreamy, shimmering guitar-pop gave many of its contemporaries across the pond a serious run for their money. The band released only three albums in its brief career, but they remain true gems of early-'90s American indie-rock. Following the band's break-up, guitarist/lead vocalist Dean Wareham went on to form Luna, while the husband-and-wife rhythm section of Naomi Yang (bass) and Damon Krukowski (drums) began performing as a duo under the name Damon & Naomi.
