 Ben E. King Biography
As lead singer with the Drifters in the late 1950s and 1960s, Artist was the voice behind many of that group's biggest hits. Going solo in 1960, he scored several more times (most notably with the classic "Stand By Me") by matching his slightly raspy, stone-cold soulful voice with lush, string-laden production.
