| Hotter Than Hell CD (1974) Remastered
$6.39 Die-hard fans immediately associated these songs with certain members of the band. Adorned with a kabuki-inspired cover (which helped spark their huge appeal in Japan), the album is filled with tightly written songs packed with sex and attitude. Released in late 1974, HOTTER THAN HELL was the second of four albums Artist would release in a two-year span. "Parasite" and "Strange Ways" are two early Ace Frehley tours de force, while Gene Simmons's offerings include the suggestive "All The Way" and "Watchin' You."
Of the criminally overlooked material on HOTTER THAN HELL, two songs stand out in particular.

 Kiss Biography
A theatrical rock band formed in the 1970s heyday of glitter, Artist brought to life a cast of cartoonish figures sustained by heavy riffs and an endless supply of face paint. With each band member assuming an alter-ego (Gene Simmons, demon; Paul Stanley, stud; Ace Frehley, spaceman; and Peter Criss, cat), Artist set the standard for the ultimate spectacle, combining monstrously hook-heavy rock with outrageous costumes and stage shows. Following the release of four simultaneous solo albums, Criss left the group, and a few years later Frehley also departed. Simmons and Stanley soldiered on with various lineups, and the group even abandoned their make-up beginning with 1983's LICK IT UP. In 1996, the original quartet reunited and donned their old faces and outfits for a hugely successful tour.
