They came together out of the ashes of life's tragedies and they formed this thing called "Artist ". This is just the beginning for this group of unusual guys. The songs range from personal feelings about life, death, war, religion, and even suicide. The musicians are not your typical average players. Artist music is played with heart, soul, feel and groove. Not technical at all, but very simple. There motto is "less is more", and this is true. All you have to do is listen to "Canticle Fair". It features an 11 (eleven) year old girl playing the piano to a monster groove. It's like nothing I ever heard before. It made a believer out of me about the "less is more" thinking. The whole Cd is set in this way of thinking. Another song with "less is more" is "WE Will Rock You". They took the fundamentals of the Queen classic, and made it fit with their own version of a driving musical force. Another song on the CD called "Now what" will make some people very, very angry. I know I was! It deals with religion from all walks of life very graphically. I asked about this song, and they responded, "God has nothing to do with religion, people do"! He's was absolutely right. It was time for me to learn the "less is more" way of thinking. The "Battle For More" deals with the "I want More stuff" attitude. Artist hopes that the listener will take the songs and make it fit their own personal life as it has for them. No doubt that many will do exactly that.
