Although Hydeus Kiatta in recent times often performs in jazz clubs in the Los Angeles area, this is a pop-oriented set. Her flexible voice is excellent and attractive but the settings are pretty commercial and most of her improvising takes place over closing vamps. All of the songs were written or co-composed by Kiatta and although sincere, it is doubtful that any will catch on as standards.
