While retro rockabilly bands continue to sprout up like kudzu, Scott's outfit stands out with a nice brace of all-original material, much of it showing thought, originality and real musiciality. "Blue Feeling" is perhaps the most unfocused track aboard, but the closer, "It's Wrong," is another strong piece of country-style tunesmithing. This eight-song, ten-inch vinyl mini-LP features a good sampling of what Scott and his Red Hots have to deliver on a Saturday night. The opener, "Crazy Mixed Emotions," and is straight from the jump blues textbook, while "Let's Fall In Love" features a nice twin harmony vocal overdubbed by Scott. "Don't Leave Me" is a bouncy shuffle with another strong harmony hook, while the title track combines jump blues with a decided Gene Vincent bent to the proceedings. Russell's husky vocals come to the fore behind Jamarillo on the ballad "You Never Know," and "Don't Wanna Crash" nails the original clip-clop rockabilly beat to the wall.
