| Another Daydown CD (2009)
Tapping The Vein finally returns with their long-awaited sophomore album, "Another Day Down." This release finds the band continuing to tread the thin line between hard rock and metal, adding in elements of gothic and industrial music for a powerful and unique result. So impressive are their polished live performances and meticulously-crafted recordings that they were hand-picked by the notoriously fussy Andrew Eldritch to open for The Sisters of Mercy at their first US show in six years, before TTV had even released their first album. Tapping The Vein later went on to tour with King's X, Lacuna Coil, Electric Hellfire Club and others. With clever programming, solid rock chops and blisteringly powerful female vocals, Tapping The Vein appeals to fans of bands such as Garbage, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil and many more.
Tapping the Vein: Heather Thompson (vocals); Mark Burkert (guitar, programming); Gregor MacKintosh (guitar); Noel Conklin (bass instrument).
Programmer: Gregor MacKintosh.

This is the first album from these four musicians, and like any young band they have a few bad songs. But the good songs are very good, hinting at the possibility that they could really make some great music after this album. As for their debut, it is a hit-and-miss proposition that results in some spotty moments in an otherwise fine album. ~ Bradley Torreano
There's not really that many bands around that you could call original. While Tapping The Vein indeed have some very clear inspirations, the music found on their ... |
