$17.69 Seth Billy began singing from the time he learnt how to speak. Seth only started to share his talent with others in 1994 at a local talent show called the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest. The Richard Stoute Teen Talent contest has been the stepping stone for many amateur Barbadian artists who wish to take their talent to the world. Some of the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Contest winners who have gone on to local and international stardom include Rupert Clarke, Edwin Yearwood and Adrian Clarke among many others. In 1994 the show included the original song contest which saw all the competitors who sang original compositions competing against each other. Seth emerged as winner of the Original Song Contest despite the fact that he did not go on to win the final showcase. In the early nineties the Barbados music industry was not as successful as it is today, so talented youngsters found it difficult to find work in the musical arena so Seth looked to develop another one of his God given talents.Singing was not the only talent Seth possessed since he also represented Barbados in track at the CARIFTA games. Seth was offered an athletic scholarship to the University of Wyoming and he accepted it, which meant obviously that his singing ambitions were put on hold.Seth is a firm believer in education and was not about to give up the chance of gaining an education by putting his athletic talent aside.Seth returned to Barbados a winner, since he earned a bachelors degree in Finance and a Masters degree in Information Systems. The love for music and singing did not leave Seth and he decided to develop his musical talent and take his work to the world. In 2006 Seth released his first ragga-soca single “hear me” with a production company called 3 Kings. The song was a hit in 2006 and received lots of radio-play since it was a favorite with the DJ’s at 95.3 FM.At present Seth is working on his debut album called “One Way”…the ...

$10.15 Uncle Carl predicts the end of the world!Well, not exactly. Uncle Carl has completed his third CD The End of the World which features the Skeeter Davis song as the title track. This time left to his own devices, Uncle Carl created an album in his home studio. He not only wrote and produced it, but he played all the instruments (much to the chagrin and concern of his band). The Unc is very excited about the release, although he claims he\'s a bit uncomfortable with some of the songs— \"There are a couple of songs that are, I guess you can say somewhat sincere.\" Hmmm… Still, fans shouldn\'t be concerned— the new album has what any Uncle Carl lover would hope for: blues tunes, drinking songs, Jesus jingles, and even a ditty that borders on pornographic.A songwriter/troubadour and master in lyrical character study and storytelling, Uncle Carl is actually an ethereal entity comprised of the alter ego of Carl T. Vreeland (\"I\'m a stylist,\" Vreeland maintains), and a group of eclectic musicians who tolerate his self-deprecating persona. In reviewing Uncle Carl\'s eponymous first CD (Sha-Shu Records 1001-2), Musician\'s Exchange called it \"A perfect combination of style and substance.\" The Night Guide proclaimed, \"Uncle Carl is Brooklyn\'s answer to Dr. John.\" His devoted and enthusiastic fans concur and note that the live concert experience only adds to the recorded mystique.Uncle Carl\'s CD Bring Me Your Children was the long-anticipated sophomore effort. After a five year waiting period, Uncle Carl\'s fans all over the world were able to breathe a collective sigh of relief as the latest ruminations from his own fascinating ...
