Great soundtrack Every song on this soundtrack is good and I liked the last song - gonna fly now 2 - which is almost better than the original... Submitted by John Nelson (Albany,N.Y.,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 4 of 5 found this helpful.

$9.19 Like the movie it accompanies, the soundtrack to Rocky III is a pure '80s throwback, and that's not necessarily a compliment. At only ten tracks, the album still manages to seem padded. Let's face it, once you've heard the pop chestnut "Eye of the Tiger," ...

Rocky Story Soundtrack music CDs
$10.79 What seemed like a great idea on Subterranean Masquerade's pint-sized debut EP, Temporary Psychotic State: applying the "everything but the kitchen sink" approach of progressive rock to psychedelic waffling, gothic vocalizing, and heavy metal crunch -- proves a little too much to stomach on their sprawling full-length, Suspended Animation Dreams. With the exception of a few, regular-sized tracks that mostly sound unfinished (or perhaps, in retrospect, were mere leftover passages), the album is comprised mostly of ill-defined epics, seemingly built specifically to convey the band's versatility via the juxtaposition of polar musical styles. Thus, psychedelic whimsy leads into doom metal fury, leads into lounge piano swing, leads into ...

Rocky Story Soundtrack songs
$8.09 Tenor saxman Johnny Griffin was often touted for his blisteringly fast technique, but he was also a versatile stylist, as this classic date, Griffin's Blue Note debut, demonstrates. Released in 1956, INTRODUCING has Griffin tackling ballads and soulful, mid-tempo numbers, in addition to athletic bop workouts. Griffin's playing is always pleasing, and with ...
| | Enforcer CD (2007)
Rocky Story Soundtrack album
$13.29 The lone score in the Dirty Harry series written by a composer other than Lalo Schifrin, The Enforcer enlists Jerry Fielding, who eschews both Schifrin's legacy "Harry's Theme" as well as the previous films' signature choral chanting in favor of funky, jazz-inspired themes very much in the spirit of the picture's 1976 theatrical release. Already skilled in the fine art of scoring violence and mayhem thanks to his work for filmmaker Sam Peckinpah, Fielding delivers a live-wire score that perfectly complements the two-fisted justice doled out by star Clint Eastwood's urban avenger. Still, themes like "Finale (Elegy for Inspector Moore)" capture real emotion beneath the tough-guy veneer. The Aleph label's 2007 release heralds The Enforcer's first-ever commercial release; the package includes liner notes ...
| | Lauren Hart Good Things CD (2008)
Rocky Story Soundtrack CD music
$16.45 This music feels like the truest for me," says Lauren of her fourth CD "Good Things." The addictive blend of classic songwriting and edgy swagger is a soulful tip of the hat to the music Lauren listened to growing up in New Jersey: the sounds of Motown - Aretha Franklin, the Jackson 5, and Gladys Knight; and the grooves of Philly Soul - Gamble and Huff, Hall & Oates, and the Hooters.Lauren's return to her roots was sparked by performances with the legendary Funk Brothers of Motown fame, and the Philadelphia-based hip-hop/steel guitar band Slo-Mo, which she joined two years ago. Said Lauren, "I kept thinking, when do I have the most fun? Where am I at my best? When am I able to make that magical connection with an audience? It became very clear to me. Like most people looking for their truth, you come full circle just to find out you were probably on the right track all along.""Good Things" was produced by Tony Reyes at Maze Studios in Atlanta. An undeniably talented producer/musician/songwriter who played bass in Lauren's band earlier in his career, Reyes has worked with Joss Stone, Gnarles Barkley, Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Elliot Yamin and Shakira. The album was masterfully engineered by Carlton Lynn, whose impressive collaborations include Collective Soul, TLC, Pink, Ashanti, Usher and Aretha Franklin."I wanted this music to 'feel' great," says Lauren. It does. "Good Things" is the perfect showcase for the power, range and emotion of Lauren's voice. "I've let go of any fear I had of over-singing - I'm no longer holding back. I wrote this album for my voice. I wrote what feels good. I closed my eyes, I pictured looking into the eyes of others, and singing the words that would move them. It stopped being about crafting the perfect song mechanically. 'Good Things' is about capturing the emotion of that very moment."While the groove is the thing on this CD, there is a message, and the tongue-in-cheek "High Times" is an ideal example. "I wanted to write about the conversations I have on any given day, and usually, they revolve around what the #&*^ is going on in the world. I never wanted to be a preacher, but as an artist, it's hard not to want to express these feelings in your work. This is the most pivotal time in America's history since I've been alive. And music isn't showing it. Maybe it wouldn't have to be an in-your-face-60s thing, but music is kinda hiding out in a nice, shiny place hoping no one will notice."Always known for her introspective lyrics and soaring vocals, Lauren's songs have been heard on television series and soap operas including "Joan of Arcadia," "Party of Five," "All My Children" and "One Life to Live," and her critically acclaimed National Anthem is featured in the Disney feature ...
