Principally recorded at Chicago Trax, Chicago, Illinois. Includes liner notes by Bruce Iglauer.
All songs written or co-written by Billy Boy Arnold except "I Ain't Got You" (Carter), "How Long Can This Go On?" (Parker), "It Should Have Been Me" (Curtis) and "Sunny Road" (Sykes).
Billy Boy Arnold, a fluent blues harmonica player and an expressive singer, made his initial impact in the 1950s/early '60s, but then went three decades between American records. The second recording from his comeback, Eldorado Cadillac, finds Arnold (who worked many yeas earlier with Bo Diddley) in enthusiastic form while utilizing a top-notch group that includes guitarists Bob Margolin and James Wheeler, pianist Sonny Leyland, bassist Steve Hunt, drummer Chuck Cotton, and (for three numbers) David Zielinski on tenor. Arnold contributes such originals as "Don't Stay out All Night," "Mama's Bitter Seed," "Man of Considerable Taste," "Too Many Old Flames," and "Slick Chick." A fun set of passionate Chicago blues. ~ Scott Yanow

Down Beat (3/96, p.55) - 5 Stars - Excellent - "...exciting....tightfisted rhythms and sinewy guitar licks...support Arnold's wailing harp....Arnold is as adept at singing the blues as he is playing them." JazzTimes (3/96, p.118) - "Chicago blues harpist, a major figure from the '50s, is back with another no-nonsense blues offering in the great tradition of Sonny Boy Williamson....Arnold delivers catchy originals...with slick verve and a dose of humor..." Living Blues (1-2/96, pp.59-60) - "...one of the most encouraging events the blues world has seen in years..." Billy Boy Arnold Eldorado Cadillac Songs Eldorado Cadillac Review

| | Junior Wells Hoodoo Man Blues CD (1965)

$9.85 HOODOO MAN BLUES is one of the great albums from the era of classic Chicago blues.
