Full Descriptionand "Hotel California" was nominated for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal. HELL FREEZES OVER was nominated for Best Pop Album.
In a disappointing year of virtual reality performances, the Eagles' highly touted tour of America was a triumphant affirmation of enduring pop values, from a band that literally wrote the stylistic book on the singer-songwriter/rock'n'roll synthesis during the '70s. And as a band member jokes in a droll intro to their live set, "For the record, we never broke up, we just took a 14 year vacation."
So now we have one of the most anticipated reunions in rock history.
Certainly the internal pressures which tore the band apart haven't been papered over, judging from post-tour statements. From the outgrowth of all that creative tension is a remarkably tight live set, and a four-song prologue of new Eagles material, all as fresh and melodious as the originals.
Not surprisingly, the strongest of the new tunes, "Get Over It" and "Learn To Be Still," come from collaborations involving Don Henley. The latter a dark folkish ballad offering reassurance in the face of life's small, bitter defeats, the former a four-on-the-floor, chicken fried rocker which decries the self-victimization of Americans. And their live rendition of classic tunes really hold up: all are brimming over with elements of country, R&B and blues, sedate, funky grooves, seamless five-part harmonies and sweet soaring guitar solos and duets--all the sounds and flourishes which add up to the Eagles trademark California rock.

Rolling Stone (12/15/94, p.92) - 3.5 Stars - Good - "...the result is a tasteful, somewhat insular compilation of songs by former Eagles, rather than a fresh statement by a newly reunified band..." Q (1/95, p.252) - 3 Stars - Good - "...The Eagles, man. They're OK." Musician (1-2/95, p.77) - "...this doesn't just pick up from where THE LONG RUN left off. If anything, it's a sequel to COMMON THREAD, positioning the Eagles less as rockers with country roots than a country band that rocks..." $13.65 East, Leland Sklar, Cornelius Mims, John Giblin, Freddie Washington (bass); Sheila E.(percussion); Peter Gabriel, Sting, Marva King (background vocals).
In the early '80s, Collins took a break from the helm of Genesis to inaugurate a solo career that abandoned his group's art-rock agenda for a mainstream pop approach. In the ensuing years, the king of Nice Guy Pop established himself as one of the world's premier top 40 balladeers, as evidenced by the wall-to-wall hits that make up the balance of this appropriately titled collection. HITS walks the listener through the smooth, well-produced Collins hits that have worked their way into the collective consciousness of radio listeners (even ...

Hell Freezes Over music CDs
$10.65 "All The Way" was nominated for the 2001 Grammy Award for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals.
This is a multi-channel Super Audio CD playable only on Super Audio CD players.
This greatest-hits package, the first from pop icon Celine Dion, gathers Dion's biggest chart-toppers of the '90s and also includes a handful of new compositions. In the album's liner notes, the honey-voiced singer offers heartfelt thanks to her fans and confirms speculation that she plans take time away from music to focus on her family.
Hits include "Beauty and the Beast," "It's All Coming Back to Me Now," and "My Heart Will Go On," the impassioned theme song from TITANIC. Among the new songs, her dramatic, tremolo-drenched rendering of Ewan MacColl's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" is marked by Dion's typical midsong ...

"You Can't Lose What You Ain't Never Had" and "The Same Thing" did not appear on the original version of FOLK SINGER. They were recorded at a separate session in April 1964, three months after FOLK SINGER was released.
The title and cover photo of this 1963 recording were an attempt to cash in on the burgeoning American folk revival, but this is pure acoustic blues. Muddy began his career as a Robert Johnson-style ...

| | Marillion Script For A Jester's Tear CDs (1983) (Import) Bonus CD; Remastered
Hell Freezes Over songs
$23.19 Re-issue contains a bonus disc featuring album tracks, B sides, studio takes & demos.
Digitally remastered by Peter Mew & Mark Kelly (1997, Abbey Road Studios, London, England).
The early 1980s was perhaps the worst time in musical history to be a prog-rock band, much less to start a new one, but that's just what the hardy souls in Marillion did. Little could anyone have imagined that they'd set off a whole wave of "neo-prog" in the UK. At a time when synth-pop was all the rage, and unassuming ditties ruled the charts, Marillion's debut album, SCRIPT FOR A JESTER'S TEAR nodded proudly to such ambitious forebears as Pink Floyd and Peter Gabriel-era Genesis. Lead vocalist Fish, in fact, bore an uncanny sonic similarity to Gabriel, a fact that his penchant for onstage theatrics did little to discourage. In turn, the rest of the band offered a '70s-flavored ...
| | Susan Sandberg Down Comes The Night CD (2001)
Hell Freezes Over album
$13.95 ABOUT SUSAN SANDBERG Singer. Writer. Performer. Player. From the bars and clubs of Los Angeles to a sold-out two week engagement at the famed House of Live in Paris, Susan Sandberg has become, in the words of Request Magazine, “the strong contender to succeed Liz Phair and Alanis Morissette.” Her solo debut album, 1998’s STRIPPING FOR JESUS immediately garnered critical acclaim. Senior Writer Chris Willman of Entertainment Weekly wrote “Susan Sandberg hits all the right sweet tart chords with her expertly produced and played album.” Two tracks in particular quickly got the attention of film and television producers, with the song “Girl With All The Goodbyes” heard in the hit show “Dawson’s Creek” and the film “Late Last Night.” Another track, “Hey Batter” found even wider appeal, most notably in the smash comedy by the Farrelly Brothers, “There’s Something About Mary.” National club gigs soon followed, as well as a two-week engagement at the House of Live in Paris, an eclectic club that has showcased such acts as Hootie and The Blowfish and Emmy Lou Harris. Additional tour dates in Rome and the Italian Riviera exposed Susan to an ever-widening fan-base. She followed up with her second solo album, DOWN COMES THE NIGHT, co-produced by Jesse Valenzuela (Gin Blossoms). Once again, critical acclaim heralded her “poetic flair” and “keen sense of pop rhythm.” Minneapolis music critic Jon Bream ...
