"Superbeast" was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
From the dark and twistedly clever mind of Rob Zombie, HELLBILLY DELUXE is an interesting concoction of industrial metal and hard rock. Throw in B-movie obsessions, brilliant, comic book-type art and fantasy-derived lyrics and you'll just begin to scratch the surface of what makes Rob Zombie tick. A throw back to the days of classic album cover art, HELLBILLY DELUXE contains a 24-page CD booklet with drawings and artwork from Zombie. "I grew up in the heyday of cool record packaging. Now, you open the record and you get nothing. I always feel cheated," said Zombie. Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee makes an appearance on two songs ("Resurrection Joe" and "Meet the Creeper"). Other tracks that show Zombie's mastery of shock-rock are "Superbeast," "Demonoid Phenomenon" and "What Lurks on Channel X." Fans of Zombie's previous albums will not be disappointed by this horror-core creation.
Recorded at The Chop Shop, Hollywood, California.
Personnel: Rob Zombie (vocals); Danny Lohner, Mark Matcho (guitar, bass); Riggs (guitar); Blasko (bass); Tempesta, Tommy Lee (drums); Scott Humphrey, Paul DeCarli (programming).
Rolling Stone (9/3/98, p.102) - 3 Stars (out of 5) - "...pulverizing hard-rock riffs propelled by drums and electronic percussion, a sonic assault that, under all the bombast, is as meticulously arranged as any Whitney Houston track..." | | Kiss Rock And Roll Over CD (1976) Remastered
Hellbilly Deluxe
$6.39 Digitally remastered by Joseph M. Palmaccio (Sterling Sound, New York, New York).
ROCK AND ROLL OVER finds Kiss at its sleekest and most pop-oriented. Fresh from the thundering success of DESTROYER, the band turned out an album jammed with brisk, mostly up-tempo numbers, among which are included some of Kiss's most memorable hits. ROCK AND ROLL OVER was part of a transitional period for Kiss, between the sleazy, more conventional rock of their earlier efforts (HOTTER THAN HELL, DRESSED TO KILL) and the otherworldly, apocalyptic pomp of this album and their other, previous '76 release DESTROYER.

$8.39 At a young age Kenny P began putting to words the experiences of being raised in the poverty stricken projects of home town Cincinnati, Ohio.In 1996 Kenny released his first solo effort, "Unfadeable", which unexpectedly sold close to 3,000 copies locally, while selling the CDs and Cassettes from the trunk of his car. Unfadeable and doing local performances, gained Kenny a solid local presence and respect as an artist on the rise. His second album, "Starting From Scratch", sold exceptionally well selling 1,500 copies in the first 30 days of release. It was soon picked-up by Arc Distributing-Cincinnati, OH, which aided Kenny P's development locally and regionally. In 1998 Kenny released Puttin It Down on his own A-1 Label ...

$10.69 Fittingly named after the Mississippi town in which Cody and Luther Dickinson and Chris Chew all grew up, HERNANDO is the roadhouse trio's most personal record. It's also their finest. Recorded at their own Zebra studios (aka "The Barn") by Cody and Luther's father, legendary Memphis producer Jim Dickinson, and released on their own label, Songs of the South Records, the album has a warmth and earthiness that suggest comfort in their own skin and surroundings.
