| | Now, Vol. 1 CD (2 Customer Reviews)
NOW is the kind of compilation that, upon its release, perfectly captures the spirit of the pop music moment and makes for a great nostalgia trip ten years later. This collection essentially functions as a state of the union address for top 40 circa 1998. NOW runs the gamut from hard-edged rock to dance pop, the only connecting thread being the contemporaneous popularity of all the tracks. There's the arch alternative rock of Fastball ("The Way") and Harvey Danger ("Flagpole Sitta"), the neo-swing of Cherry Poppin' Daddies ("Zoot Suit Riot") and the slickly produced, danceable pop of the Spice Girls "Say You'll Be There." The relative shelf-life of the artist may vary from cut to cut on NOW, but it's a perfect snapshot of the music that worked its way into the American psyche in the late '90s.

| | Everclear Sparkle And Fade CD (1995)
Now, Vol. 1 music CDs
$8.99 All music written by Everclear. All lyrics written by Art Alexakis.
If rock music was a logical equation, Everclear would be to the Slacker stagnation what Creedence Clearwater Revival was to the Vietnam era. Strewn with references to a wasted, self-proclaimed "white trash hell," Everclear's grunged out roots rock brings it all back home without a trace of pretention. And much like the underrated CCR, Everclear could easily be perceived as a southern-fried bar band.
Their second full-length album, SPARKLE & FADE, is deceptively simplistic. Littered with three-chord diddies and face-level lyrics, Everclear's honesty could be mistaken for laziness. There's something primal about their approach to describing the ...

Now, Vol. 1 songs
$16.55 A raging, schizophrenic blend of pitch-perfect vocal melodies, brutal beatdowns and killer pop hooks, The Hurt Process are set to turn the Hardcore scene on its head with Cameron Webb (Limp Bizkit, Tenacious D) produced debut album. Golf. 2003.
On their first full-length release, the Hurt Process played a formulaic brand of rock common to the late '90s and early 2000s -- that is, a blend of punk, hardcore, metal, and pop; much alternation of all-out crunching passages with more subdued, contemplative ones; and vocals that ran the gamut from a throat-full-o'-razor-blades ...
