This Jan Peerce Cd brings back many memories....I remember staying up nights waiting for the Dawn Patgrol to hear this....I have told some of my 'younger' friends about it and have ordered 4 copies to give to them as gifts....and one for myself...the lyrics and memody are so inspirational - it really makes me feel good and also a little sad...hard to explain....

Jan Peerce's Blue Bird of Happiness, is real music with a voice to grab your hart, What ever happened to good clean music? What a voice ? We played the 78 rpm record on a hand winder at sea,God I remember the words now, Our skipper played it on the P.A,Sytem day & night,There was always some1to crank the handel, On the oppisit side was Mario Lanzua doeing BECAUSE OF YOU Through good times & bad times the The Blue Bird of Happyness has sustained a generation of warriors; Gave hope to millions of GOLD STAR Families who gave there HUSBANDS~FARTHERS& SON'S TO WWII, And KOREA, I'm old as dirt now!tear's roll down my cheeks listening to those REAL songs! And I fill guilty that the post war generations of kids had to listen to tons of horce menure that was called music, That was not even close to real music, Thank you so very much for giveing me time to VENT, I will order the B.B.O.H, by THE BEST OF THE BEST

 Representative of Jan Peerce's Best
The selections were representative of Jan Peerce's best. Peerce's style does not get in the way of the musical selections. The sound quality is good to very good, considering that the originals were not recorded in a low distortion or high fidelity medium.

 A song that redeems life
I grew up listening to my parent's 78rpm record of this recording: The Bluebird of Happiness. Through changing careers, marriages and divorces and marriage, and deaths of a parent and sibling and friends, this song brings my feet to earth and my heart into the clouds. Even at 58, I still sing the song when low or up, and my students seem to appreciate that music can uplift and not just entertain and amuse.
