The two MCs cover topics that only they would rap about, over self-produced tracks that only they could make. Songs like "B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)" are in contrast to the current hip-hop scene, with its bass music background, while "Ms. Jackson," a dedication to a baby's momma's momma, sports a soulful melody in the tradition of Outkast's previous efforts. Not AQUEMINI, but it'll do... I must say that I have been 'up' on these cats since '94 and it makes me proud that they are realizing such success. That said, I disagree with Anti Authority's comments. I am from the streets and this album is still STREET. An artist can't help if his music starts to speak to a wider audience. It burned me too when heads were recitin rhymes from a crew they thought just came out in '00, but what can you do? The brothas know their STANK and they create smart, energetic, proud music for the masses. Yall bwoys keep it street, and yall fake fans do ya homework. NO SURPRISE! For THe FoRTh time OUTKAST COMES OUT STRONG Lord you would think after six years that this ATL based duo would drop a shiity album. BUT NO. BOW DOWN TO OUTKAST. Not as good as Aquemini but this album is the shiit. From tracks like Gasoline Dreams, which shows you dees boys can show some rock n' roll too, to Snappin and Trappin to B.O.B. this album is worth all da dough. Are y'all crazy? First, let me say that I love Outkast. I LOVE them! But this album was not up to their usual standards, which is why I give it 2 stars. It may be a 3 or 4 star CD for your average artist, but compared to their earlier efforts, this was such a disappointment. Besides So Fresh & Ms. Jackson, I found this to be strange and uninteresting music. Perhaps many of the songs were extreme reactions to their having to make some very radio friendly songs.
