Of the tracks, 6 are previously unreleased and 12 have only been issued as b-sides. The set also includes a 56-page color booklet which features a new interview with Smokey Robinson and never-before-published photos from Claudette Robinson's private archives.
THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION celebrates the long, wonderful career of Smokey Robinson and The Miracles. With exceptionally good remastered sound that puts Motown's previous Smokey Robinson albums to shame, previously unissued recordings, a superb photo-and text-filled booklet and some of the most exquisite R&B and pop ever recorded, this collection is the ultimate Smokey Robinson and The Miracles set.
Kicking off with a rare 1958 doo-wop single "Got A Job," this collection presents all of Smokey Robinson and The Miracles' sixties smashes like "Shop Around," "The Way You Do The Things You Do," and "Tracks of My Tears," before offering a concise look at Robinson's solo career with several of his groundbreaking "quiet storm" recordings and his 1981 smash "Being With You." Though THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION focuses on the remarkable vocal and songwriting skills of Smokey Robinson, a good number of the Miracles' post-Robinson hits are also featured. Quite simply, this 97-song collection is packed with some of the most influential R&B ever recorded and it is an essential addition to any music collection.
Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier.
Producers include: Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, William "Mickey" Stevenson,

4 CD Box SetQ (8/94, p.119) - 4 Stars - Excellent - "...Without the services of William 'Smokey' Robinson then who knows - would Tamla Motown have ever really got off the ground?...Everything that should be here undoubtedly is, padded out with superior flip-sides..." Audio Magazine (7/94, p.74) - "...what stands out is Smokey's natural sense with words and lyrics and the emotional wallop these songs still pack--even the lesser-known ones...a truly great release..." 35th Anniversary Collection Music

| Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Miraculous Music For a true die-hard fan of Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, there are some real gems here and more than just a handful of songs that have been b sides, LP filler or never released. This is a bit more in depth than the standard "greatest hits" package.
Great packaging with nice photos of the group included. Only drawback for me was that they didn't include the great b side, "Much Better Off". I think pretty much everything else is here. Marvelous collection. Submitted by Larry (Mansfield, Ohio USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Very Nice I've always been a fan of Smokey Robinson but in this collection I heard songs that I didn't know existed. It is a great collection for any music lover to have. First, you hear the sounds of a young but ambitious group who's fame was non existent. Soon to be followed by sounds that any fan of music can recognize. Then you hear some of Mr. Robinson's solo songs. All in all, this collection is great. Submitted by jonboy_328 (Porterville, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Where there's Smokey there's Miracles This album is......
I can't find words to discribe it.
Smokey's voice along with the Miracles Whew!
I found myself playing some songs over and over again at least 10x each.
Saying that Smokey is the best puts him in a catagory.
Which he is not.
Smokey & the Miracles forever. Submitted by Rick aka Smokey4ever (Motown Philly, Pa.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

uniquely melodic There are very few singing artists who will display as much flavor in their voice as Smokey Robinson. His voice is unique. His style is unique. His melodic sequences and variations are unmatchable in this day and time. Submitted by j8652mb (chicago, IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
