Litany Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)  Another Vader´s album always means another masterpiece
I´ve been a fan of this polish band since I heard their classic song "Dark Age" in a compilation three years ago, and today they are one of my top 5 favourite bands of all time. I´ve always said that Vader is one of the very few bands you could never expect a bad release (no matter if you get a Vader LP, an EP, a live album, a single...),they always will be a kick assing brutal death metal band. Now, talking about the album, I have to say that this is my second faourite Vader album (after "De profundis"), but no doubt, this is the one with the heaviest sound. The beginning is called "wings", a song that could be compared to a kick in your face, but you´ll have no time to prepare, the song is too short, and the next one , "The one made of dreams", is quite similar to "wings": infernal blast beats from hell and sharp death metal riffs is what we get. With the third song , "Xeper", we can take a deep breath, because this song is quite slowest than the previous, but their riffs are completely unforgetable and addictive. With "litany", the aggressive speed is back. Another killing song! And in fifth place...a song called "cold demons", whose introduction is simply perfect, it is made for preparing you for the upcoming hell. In less than 3 minutes, Vader devastates us with one of their best songs ever. The album goes on and on on the same way for the rest of the classics: "The Calling","North","Forwards to Die!!!","A World Of hurt","The world made flesh", and in the end we have a re-recorded version of "The Final Massacre", well known for being one of the best songs from their classic "The Ultimate Incantation" in 1993. So, I will not bore you no more with boring words: If you like death metal , thrash metal, black metal, grindcore, any kind of extreme music, or want your adrenaline to outbreak, "Litany" is all what you need. No other metal album had sound so powerful since Slayer´s "Reign In Blood". Hail Vader!!!

this c.d. is top of the line for all speed metal fans. there is not one easygoing or slow song on it. it is the best metal c.d. i have yet

VADER DOES NOT GET THE CREDIT THAT THEY DESERVE. THESE GUYS ARE BRUTAL AS HELL AND I NEVER HEAR A DAMN THING ABOUT THEM EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THEY HAIL OUT POLLAND. IF YOU BRUTAL DEATH METAL, THEN BUY THIS ALBUM!!!!!!!!

Fantastic music!Death Metal is rarely this good and there are even some trash influences here as in Xeper. Brutally Good!

You have to hand it to Vader for being one of the most consistent underground acts throughout the 1990s and 2000s, the Polish group churning out album after album (after album) of commendable, no-frills death metal, while most members of the species insist on utilizing the same off-the-rack riffs ad nauseum. Not to say Vader ever broke any new ground with its Morbid Angel and Reign in Blood worship, but the Poles' songwriting skills often vault the group into the upper quadrant of the DM genre. That said, this release is a hodgepodge conglomeration of leftovers culled from imports, '03's Reign in Blood EP, and '01's Reign Forever World 10-tracker. It's not exactly an ideal introduction to Vader's precision bloodshed (see Litany or Revelations), even if the first four tracks, "Shape-Shifting" (old-school dive-bomber death metal, meticulously arranged), "We Wait" (mid-tempo sludge peppered with thrashy Kreator riffs) and "To the Fallen Rise" and "Son of Fire" (two minutes each of unwavering, white-hot Slayer blasts), are terrific. A seminal figure in the evolution of rock 'n' roll, Chuck Berry's influence as songwriter and guitarist is incalculable.
