The Bon Jovi guitarist goes solo on this recording. Sambora plays songs and styles that otherwise would not fit within the boundaries of Bon Jovi with a heavy blues influence. ~ John Book Stranger In This Town Music Richie Sambora Stranger In This Town Songs Stranger In This Town Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Classic album for collectors a great set of songs in each you would enjoy listening to alot better alone by yourself rather than throwing it into the player at a party. a nice change up from listening to bon jovi and very much an album where the blues of a man i translated through the tone, sound and lyrics in ehich is played or sung. Richie Sambora shines This album is without doubt one of the greatest soulful rock albums of its era, although it varys in genre throughout the span of the album, it still keeps its own lingering sound. Each song has its own powerful identity and leaves a unique impression on the listener.
Interestingly, producer Bob Rock chose to work on Metallica's black album rather than work on this solo effort by Sambora, although his choice was justified with the success of the classic Metallica EP, it would be very interesting to see how this album would have turned out had Bob Rock been the producer instead of Neil Dorfsman, two very different producers in their own right.
Having said that, Richie Sambora and co have done an outstanding job with this album, tracks like Mr Bluesman (feat Eric Clapton) tell us a story, Ballad Of Youth delivers a message and Father Time pose interesting questions of 'what if'.
If this is not an album that you are lucky enough to own, delay no further, it is worth the listen and well worth owning. Submitted by reggina_amaranto (Melbourne, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Stanger in this town!!!!! This (in my opinion) is the best album you could ever buy - i am not a huge fan of Bon jovi at all (ha ha ha) but this is in a league of its own - long live King sambora!!!!!!
This is definately one of those albums where after a few listenings you ask yourself "how was i ever without this cd"
My advice - BUY THIS RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Submitted by sickgoth (Scotland u.k) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Great Solo Album From Richie! With the exception of "Rosie" - which clearly is a New Jersey outtake - every song on here rocks. If you don't have this you need to BUY IT NOW. The songs Father Time and The Answer could be the best things ever written. Thank You Richie for such a gem!! 8 STARS! Submitted by Rasheed (Central California, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Stranger In This Town album
$12.79 On this, his second solo album, Richie Sambora attempts to step out of the shadow of his vocalist/movie star co-writer. He does a fine job of it, as his singing and guitar playing have definitely evolved from his earlier work. UNDISCOVERED SOUL is a very personal, heartfelt album full of emotion and passion. The album consists of mostly mid-tempo, acoustic-based songs, going more for feel than flash. In other words, Bon Jovi fans shouldn't expect any lighning-fingered, '80s heavy metal solos here. Improving upon his blues-based debut release, Sambora combines the aforementioned mid-tempo tunes with soulful ballads. He has lined up a stellar band to get the job done, including Kenny Aronoff (arguably the finest technical drummer in rock), Don Was (who also produces), Billy ...

This limited edition includes a bonus DVD version of YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK
ROBOTS including the whole album in surround sound, videos and rare tracks.
Emerging sometime in the '80s, Oklahoma boys The Flaming Lips have held steady to a peripheral, but significant location in the indie-rock world, visionaries blessed with a hyper-keen pop sensibility. In 1999, four years removed from the surprise alterna-pop hit "She Don't Use Jelly," the trio fronted by the fetching, impelling whisper of Wayne Coyne hit a remarkably high note, making scores of year-end 'best of' lists with THE SOFT BULLETIN, a mellifluous, masterful slice of Brian Wilson-level pop distorted through a few looking glasses. Following an acclaimed album is always a craggy cliff of anticipation, but if BULLETIN was the Flaming Lips' PET SOUNDS, then the ethereal YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK ROBOTS may be their SMILEY SMILE, a record which skillfully straddles the line between pop and experimentation.
YOSHIMI offers lush, enveloping arrangements, ...
