Light House Rocket
$26.38 2009 four CD set, the ultimate edition of the British Alt-Rock band's 1985 masterpiece. For nearly 25 years, Love has been a consistent seller, endorsing it's classic status in The Cult's repertoire. Designed to cater to the more committed fan, the Omnibus Edition is presented as a limited edition four disc box set with the CD's housed in Japanese-style paper sleeves, reproducing the original vinyl cover art. Apart from the re-mastered original album the box also includes the singles, the demos and a live recording from 1985. Equal parts Psychedelic Hard Rock and New Wave Goth, the songs on Love emanate a bright guitar sheen, tight arrangements, crisp drumming and a command performance from vocalist Ian Astbury. Along with the liner notes, the 48 page book features unseen contact sheets from the album photo session and a chronology of contemporaneous quotes by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy that illuminate the status of the band at that point in their ...

| | Queen Greatest Hits I, II & III: The Platinum Collection CDs (2002) Box Set
Light House Rocket
$15.25 Recorded between 1974 & 1997. Includes liner notes by Jim Jenkins, Jacky Smith, Andy Davis, Phil Symes.
With Queen officially enshrined in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, Hollywood Records reintroduces the band yet again with the release of GREATEST HITS I, II & III. While Volumes I and II are full of Queen classics you already know by heart, the third cobbles together odds and sods from the far corners of Queen's canon along with solo cuts from Freddie Mercury and Brian May.
Opening with the operatic rock classic "Bohemian Rhapsody," it's easy to hear not only how this British quartet achieved the kind of global acclaim that ensured they'd be enshrined alongside the likes of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. When they weren't dabbling in playful '50s-flavored rock & roll ("Crazy Little Thing Called Love"), catchy glam ("Killer Queen"), ...
| | Tool Aenima CD (1996)
Light House Rocket
$12.29 AENIMA was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. "Aenima" won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
On its second full-length album, this hard-rocking quartet delivers 15 tracks of unrelenting aggression and focused intensity. Rather than overwhelm with huge sonic washes of guitar and booming drums, Tool employs a propulsive, snaky approach that makes use of undulating rhythms and clipped, percussive guitar riffs. Maynard James Keenan's vocals follow suit, opting for a heavily processed slow burn instead of the post-grunge bellow favored by so many hard-rock bands. Instead of flailing uncontrollably in all ...
| | Leonard Cohen Live In London CDs (2009)
Light House Rocket
$16.99 After taking a decade-and-a-half vacation from live performance, septuagenarian singer/songwriter/saint Leonard Cohen returned to the stage in 2008 for a European tour. During his absence, his popularity had grown to such a degree that his London concert took place at the city's O2 Arena. With the gathered masses sounding suitably enraptured, ...

| | Saint Etienne Travel Edition 1990-2005 CD (2004)
Light House Rocket
$11.65 Saint Etienne's dreamy, pleasure-button-pushing combination of 1960s-era pop hooks and electronica-influenced beats is difficult to resist, and while the band's albums are consistently strong, this singles collection may be the best overview of the group's aesthetic. Between 1990 and 2005, Saint Etienne released a long string of popular singles, building on a sound that evoked the swinging London of yore and the decadent dance vibe of house music at once, while keeping the sound fresh and ever-evolving over time. TRAVEL EDITION represents that trajectory, from the band's first single, "Only Love Can Break Your Heart," a hip-hop-tinged cover of ...
| | R E M Up CD (1998) Wdva; Digipak
Light House Rocket
$16.39 The departure of drummer Bill Berry in 1997 no doubt unsettled his former R.E.M.-mates, who found themselves straddling not only creative, but personal crossroads. Rather than giving up, the remaining members of R.E.M. reinvented themselves and released UP, a stunning, eloquent album of dark vulnerability and experimentalism. The emotional disquiet Stipe evokes is nearly shocking in its plainspoken lyricism. Songs like the agonized "Sad Professor" and the wary, hypnotic "Suspicion" seem almost too naked for Stipe, who spent years cloaking his words in mumbles and misnomers. For the first time, lyrics are even included in the packaging.
"Hope" ...
