(1 Customer Review)
If you've never heard of these guys, don't worry--even back in their early-'60s heyday, they were world-famous only in Minneapolis, where they had a local hit with a totally over-the-top "Surfin' Bird"-derived take on "Shortnin' Bread." Which means they're barely a footnote to rock history, but GET READY--which collects (mostly) primitively recorded rehearsal tapes and live gigs--is terrific rowdy fun; in fact, on the evidence here, the Ready Men rocked out every bit as hard as more famous Northwest brethren like the Wailers. | | Essential Pebbles Collection, Vol. 1: The Best Of American Garage CDs (1997)
Get Ready music CDs
$15.35 The Essential Pebbles Collection, Vol. 1 is a budget-priced, two-CD set that serves two functions. The first, fulfilled by disc one, is to distill the first ten volumes of the Pebbles '60s garage rock singles compilation series. The second is a bonus disc full of even more insanely rare material that has never appeared on Pebbles albums or myriad other '60s compilations. Considering the staggering amount of material reissued by Archive International, in addition to myriad '60s compilations released by other companies worldwide, casual observers of this phenomenon might wonder what the fuss is all about. The singles compiled by these releases are from an era where local bands' records shared airplay with the major hitmakers. The Pebbles series' most important accomplishment has been to provide a glimpse of the musical life beyond the hits in constant rotation on many oldies radio stations.
Pebbles compiles ...

| | Mary Black Looking Back CD (1995)
Get Ready music CDs
$15.79 LOOKING BACK, Mary Black's 1995 collection of pop songs from four of her earlier albums, showcases the Irish folkie's eclectic, resonant work and includes two new tracks. Delicate and sensitive one minute, growling and defiant the next, Mary Black has the ability to turn herself inside out, getting into the heart and soul of the characters she sings about. The album begins with the single "Soul Sister" where Black musically unites all women through the love, devotion, and even the missteps that they all share on their travels. "No Frontiers," luminously sung with an upbeat and hopeful vibe, implores listeners to always keep their hearts open without any boundaries. Black, known for her lilting soprano, uses her lower register to great dramatic effect on "Ellis Island," relating the personal pain of immigrants leaving their homeland, setting out to an unknown future. "Bright Blue Rose," sung almost as a meditation, is one of Black's most precious songs as she encourages everyone to seek their own path and diverge as much as possible until ...

$9.85 I am a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music in New York City and have come from a musical family. My brothers also went to Juillard and Manhattan School of Music. My mother wanted us to be a musical family group and since my father was in the United States Air Force we traveled all over the world playing in Japan, Hawaii, Turkey, Virginia and New York City. We learned 17 instruments and studied styles from clasical to Jazz, pop, rock and broadway. My main instruments are flute, voice, guitar and I compose also. I have also sung in the opera in Orlando. I am a world class Flute player on styles from classical, blues, Jazz, Latin and most varied styles as well. I love to sing and am a tenor blessed with a beautiful voice able to sing with a wide range of octives and styles. I have a beautiful wife and love writing romantic songs for her(Dilcia). I play and sing here in Orlando, Florida and have performed at Disney, Universal, Sea World, Rollins College and many hotels as well as convention centers and private parties. This particular song called "Dreams Come True" was written about a dream I had in which I saw my wife before I ever even met her and also my son Byron was with her. So when we met and dated for two years and were married after a few years I decided to write this song about the dream I never forgot and which did really come true. I believe it was Gods way of showing me that my true love would come into my life one day and my son also. After we were married when my wife was pregnant to our son she became very ill with cancer during her pregnancy and I almost lost both my wife and son. It took 7 years for her recovery, but my son Byron was born healty and is a father himself now in the Air Force with his wife(also in the Air Force)with a daughter our granddaughter named Giselle. I am a very accomplished musician and singer and am presently playing and singing with musicians and composers from Romania, ...
