2 EP's on 1 CD. Rudimentary Peni: Nick Blinko (vocals, guitar); Grant Matthews (bass); Jon Grenville (drums). Recorded at Southern Studios, London, England. Personnel: Nick Blinko (vocals, guitar); Jon Greville (drums). Recording information: Southern studios (03/27/1982/03/28/1982). Rudimentary Peni's early EPs were ordinary anarchist punk, containing little of the over-the-top rage fantasies of Death Church and Cacophony. Fortunately, relevant precursors or not, these releases were throttling and brash, shamelessly self-explanatory, and fond of intense speed shifts as they tottered over a pre-grindcore method of handling near chaos. Songs had two ways of ending: a quick, clipped dead halt or a screamy mess, as if the bandmembers had just dropped their instruments to the floor and walked away. That said, there wasn't a whole lot to Rudimentary Peni at this point. The band's main draw, its obsessive, absurdist qualities, had yet to break the surface. ~ Dean Carlson

One of the greatest punkrock bands!! Rudimentary Peni: Eps of Rp is one of the best punkrock cd's I have ever had the pleasure of owning. It contains some of the bands greatest tunes, such as: Teenage Time Killer, Crazy Chain, Hym him, Evil Eye, and many more. If you like the original punkrock sound of the early 80's, you must own this cd. It serves as several hours of pure listening enjoyment, but, don't take my word for it. Buy the cd and see for yourself! Submitted by a reviewer (mcinleyville, ca) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

EP's Of RP
$13.65 Personnel: Kenny Neal (vocals, guitar, harmonica, bass guitar). Louisiana bluesman Kenny Neal has been purveying his blend of blues, swamp, and soul since the mid-1980s, but LET LIFE FLOW is his first album for the Blind Pig label. It finds the singer/guitarist delivering both updates of classic R&B nuggets like "Since I Met You, Baby" and turning out his own infectious, soul-flavored blues tunes, inflected with everything from Jimmy Reed-like shuffle grooves ("Starlight Diamond") to greasy funk rhythms ("Another Man's Cologne"). Son of Louisiana bluesman Raful Neal, young Kenny had some big shoes to fill, but he's been more than up to the task. He plays bass, guitar, trumpet, piano and guitar, and worked in Toronto with the Downchild Blues Band as well as with his siblings in the Neal Brothers Band before returning to Louisiana in 1987 to cut his debut, Bio on the Bayou. Since then Neal has continued to blend his swampy roots with soul and R&B to put his own contemporary spin on the blues. Let Life Flow finds the 50-year-old bluesman in fine voice delivering four originals and seven covers. Neal accents "Louisiana Stew" with a long, jaunty, ...
