Also available in a 3-pack with DIARY OF A MADMAN and BARK AT THE MOON.
Ozzy Osbourne's 1983 release, BARK AT THE MOON, revealed that keyboards were becoming an integral ingredient in his music. On his next release, THE ULTIMATE SIN, keyboards were used even more extensively, resulting in Ozzy's most commercially accessible work. Despite the fact that many longtime fans resented the album's pop-metal leanings, THE ULTIMATE SIN became Osbourne's fastest-selling album to that point. It was also the last Ozzy Osbourne album to feature guitarist Jake E. Lee.
The most renowned song on THE ULTIMATE SIN remains the popular video/single "Shot in the Dark." Other standouts included the anti-nuclear war tracks "Thank God for the Bomb" and "Killer of Giants" (the latter was the album's working title for quite some time), as well as the title track and "Lightning Strikes," which were both popular MTV videos as well. Although Ozzy enjoyed his greatest commercial success to that point with this record, he returned to his more familiar heavy metal tendencies of yore on his next studio release, 1989's NO REST FOR THE WICKED.
Digitally remastered by Brian Lee & Bob Ludwig.

| The Ultimate Sin Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews A great album, unduly panned Wasn't "Shot in the Dark" a #1 single, for The Ozzman? I pretty much thought ALL of the tracks were good. It's no BLIZZARD OF OZZ or NO REST FOR THE WICKED, but it was nicely done, by Ozzy -- a definate winner. I would reccomend buying it. I think it should have been included in the remasters, but then, I have several complaints about tho 2002 Epic Records remasters. One of The Madman's Best !! This albums features Ozzy in the prime of his career. He approached this album with a great attitude , but we all know that didn't last long. soon after this was cut , Ozzy fired Jake E. Lee. The songs are awesome. I would recommend this to the budding musicians out there. Submitted by will_cratch (Washington, NC, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Highly underrated While this album doesn't rank with "Blizzard of Ozz", "Diary of a Madman", or "No More Tears", it is one of Ozzy's best. It was a definite improvement over the so-so "Bark at the Moon" and it was much better than "No Rest for the Wicked" and "Ozzmosis" (although, the fact is, that the next bad Ozzy album will be the first. "Killer of Giants" was one of his best ever songs. It really disappointed me that he didn't include a single song from "Ultimate Sin" on his greatest hits album. The Ultimate Sin album
$17.59 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club. Best of the latter is the naked and haunting closer "Roter Sand" but little touches of a sinister yesteryear are everywhere, like the fake vaudeville music in "Haifisch" or the soundtrack strings of "Wiener Blut" which are eventually overcome by a guitar crunching juggernaut. This strange mix of styles is more effective here than it has been for about a decade, and there's no threat of the album becoming ponderous either as the economical tracklist and purposeful songs wipe away the sins of their previous album, 2005's ROSENROT. The group's loyal fans have remained with them through the '00s and have braved all the difficult but ultimately rewarding efforts that came with it. To them, LIEBE IST ...
| | Kiss Sonic Boom CDs (2009)
The Ultimate Sin CD music
$16.09 When SONIC BOOM was released, it had been over a decade since the last Kiss studio album, so expectations were understandably high. In addition, the intervening period had seen the band fire two of its founding members for the second time, only to replace them with sidemen wearing Ace Frehley and Peter Criss's iconic makeup. Luckily, the new additions, unlike some of Kiss's "un-masked years" members, have a good feel for classic Kiss. That fact, matched with Paul Stanley's assumption of production duties, makes SONIC BOOM one of the most consistent and thoroughly Kiss-sounding albums since the group's `70s heyday. That said, the New York City unit manages to branch out a bit; alongside very ROCK & ROLL OVER/LOVE GUN-esque tracks such as the Gene Simmons-sung rockers "Yes I Know (Nobody's Perfect)" and "Russian Roulette," sit ambitious pieces such as "Stand," which employs a Motown-influenced chorus melody, sophisticated arrangement, and Beach Boys-style harmonies, and "All For the Glory" and "Lightning Strikes," which are vocal showcases from new guys Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer (respectively). Interestingly, both Singer's rasp and Thayer's slightly off-kilter delivery are highly reminiscent of their famous predecessors, which ...

The Ultimate Sin music CDs
$12.29 There was a time when British Steel was the hottest, hardest, and most awesome substance on the planet. On Judas Priest "Concert Classics", here it is, in its most appropriate circumstances: live, on stage. Judas Priest re-invented heavy metal. The first band to use the twin-guitar ...
| | Pantera Cowboys From Hell CD (1990)
The Ultimate Sin songs
$5.75 In the tradition of bands such as Metallica and Judas Priest, Pantera put themselves on the map with supercharged blues-based metal riffs and screaming/singing vocals. Adding groove to their artistic aggression made COWBOYS FROM HELL a landmark for the band.
With the relentless "Primal Concrete Sledge," Pantera take a chance and incorporate industrial elements into their style, a risky move for a metal band in 1990. "Psycho Holiday" showcases machine-gun syncopation while "Heresy" matches thrash riffs with double bass drumming dexterity. The haunting and dramatic "Cemetery Gates" features soulful vocals and was responsible for thrusting Pantera in the metal mainstream. The outro to "Domination" makes use of an infectiously mosh-worthy progression, while a call-and-answer ...
| | Avenged Sevenfold City Of Evil CD (2005)
The Ultimate Sin album
$9.49 Even though Avenged Sevenfold's first two albums clearly got them lumped into the emo camp, the California quintet always hinted at the heavy metal influence of bands like Iron Maiden. With their major-label debut CITY OF EVIL, not only have they fleshed out these tendencies via the intricate riffing of dual guitarists Zacky Vengeance and Synyster Gates, but they've begun to dabble with more intricate, prog-like song structures. And with singer M. Shadows recovering from vocal chord surgery, he employs a considerably more melodic approach.
The first half of CITY cleaves to what longtime fans have come to expect: dive-bombing call-and-response riffing and furious double-bass-drum attacks, ...
