(3 Customer Reviews)
Digitally remastered by Brian Lee and Bob Ludwig (Gateway Mastering Studios, Inc.).
Ozzy Osbourne's world tour for 1989's NO REST FOR THE WICKED was another sold-out success for metal's beloved madman. It marked the first tour appearance of new guitarist Zakk Wylde, the second of drummer Randy Castillo, and the return of former Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler. As a tribute to the thousands of fans who packed arenas, Ozzy decided to re-record six fan favorites live in the studio with his new band, and issued it in early 1990 under the name JUST SAY OZZY.
Made up of four solo hits and two Black Sabbath classics, JUST SAY OZZY is an authentic representation of what the short-lived Osbourne-Butler-Wylde-Castillo line-up sounded like live. Ozzy actually stated in the press around the time of the EP's release that he much preferred the version of his 1986 hit "Shot In the Dark" included here over the original. Also included are three songs from NO REST FOR THE WICKED, "Miracle Man," "Bloodbath in Paradise," and "Tattooed Dancer," as well as the Sabbath nuggets (and all-time heavy metal anthems) "Sweat Leaf" and "War Pigs." While other live Osbourne releases like TRIBUTE and SPEAK OF THE DEVIL are better, Ozzy worshippers will enjoy JUST SAY OZZY.
Recorded live at the Brixton Academy Theater, England in November 1989. Includes liner notes by Ozzy Osbourne.
Personnel: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Zakk Wylde (guitar); Geezer Butler (bass); Randy Castillo (drums).

| Just Say Ozzy Music Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) Love it or hate it... The selection of songs on this one is poor but you'll never hear a better version of shot in the dark. Not to mention, love it or hate it, Zakk Wylde was at his best on this one. He will never sound this good live again. Submitted by a reviewer (Sarnia, On.) Was This Review Helpful? Average. Didn't realize it was live version. It was OK but don't like the live versions as much. Submitted by marilyn.coffey (Queens NY) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
A good live record by Ozzy Although the selection is very short, this is an EP! the best tracks are miracle man, Shot in the dark, Sweet Leaf and War pigs. the playing is crazy especially Zak and Castillo. Butler is at his best. Ozzy, like the usual, is going crazy. although recorded during No rest for the wicked tour, I didn't like tattoted dancer and bloodpath in paradise. he should threw in something else! worth the try but you'll get tired of it in a while! Just Say Ozzy
$11.59 Five Finger Death Punch stormed rock radio in 2007 with "The Bleeding" (from debut album THE WAY OF THE FIST), a powerful, emotionally tense track that matched vintage, Metallica-style thrash with a throat-shredding chorus more typical of late aughts metalcore. The Los Angeles-based band's sophomore disc WAR IS THE ANSWER mines much of the same territory as that breakout song, keeping the flame of the classic `80s Four Horsemen sound alive with snap-tight chugga-chugga guitar rhythms, minor-key, classical music-inspired clean/acoustic passages, and vocals dripping with a James Hetfield-approved combination of sensitive angst and macho defiance. First single "Hard to See" backs a catchy, harmony-vocal laden melody with a syncopated groove so rhythmically engaging it could almost be called funky, while the closing track "War is the Answer" takes a classic-sounding headbanging riff seemingly straight out of the Anthrax songbook and uses it to drive home one of several ultra-aggressive sentiments ("to me you're just a cancer/war is the answer"). Elsewhere, Five Finger Death Punch delves into somewhat more diverse sonic territory; "Bulletproof" combines a throbbing industrial ...
| | Steel Panther Feel The Steel CD (2009)
Just Say Ozzy
$9.99 Like Spinal Tap and several other acts before it, Steel Panther found success mocking the excesses of `80s hair metal while accurately re-creating the genre's musical style. The Los Angeles-based, wig n' spandex-clad quartet delivered a particularly low-brow take on the mock-metal ...
| | Tool Aenima CD (1996)
Just Say Ozzy
$12.29 AENIMA was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. "Aenima" won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.
On its second full-length album, this hard-rocking quartet delivers 15 tracks of unrelenting aggression and focused intensity. Rather than overwhelm with huge sonic washes of guitar and booming drums, Tool employs a propulsive, snaky approach that makes use of undulating rhythms and clipped, percussive guitar riffs. Maynard James Keenan's vocals follow suit, opting for a heavily processed slow burn instead of the post-grunge bellow favored by so many hard-rock bands. Instead of flailing uncontrollably in all directions, the group's raw, energetic sound is tightly directed for maximum impact.
On songs like "Stinkfist," Keenan rails against injustice while ...
| | Black Sabbath Paranoid CD (1971)
Just Say Ozzy
$9.09 PARANOID proved to be Black Sabbath's most focused, consistent, and successful record. Leaving behind the amorphous, extended jams of their debut for focused songs and a more structured sound, Black Sabbath virtually wrote the book on heavy metal with the ominous, unforgettable riffs, thunderous rhythms, and dark themes on this release. There are some up-tempo rockers, the famous title track for one, but for the most part PARANOID oozes along like a bad dream, as on the slinky, creepy opener, "War Pigs," or the lumbering thud of "Iron Man" (which boasts one of the most indelible electric guitar riffs in rock history).
The album's title is apt: PARANOID is filled with an edgy aggression and lyrics about war, insanity, death, and destruction. Ozzy Osbourne's flat, affectless ...
| | Dream Theater Images And Words CD (1992)
Just Say Ozzy
$10.49 While continuing to improve its musical chops and explore more progressive territory, Dream Theater reached its mainstream apex with 1992's IMAGES AND WORDS. Here the group capably combined prog-rock high-mindedness with metal crunch and commercial accessibility on the opening track "Pull Me Under," helping to snare an audience big enough to push this album past gold sales status.
What makes IMAGES AND WORDS stand out is the fluid marriage of shred tactics, soaring vocals, and catchy hooks, all wrapped up in a polished studio sound. Fans can argue whether this is the band's best, but there is no denying the power of epic, engaging songs like "Take the Time," "Under a Glass ...

It is being called the national anthem for soldiers. Mike is touring the country with his "American Soldier Thank You" show to promote awareness and respect for our soldiers and their families.Stop the War – the song – what is its true message? This is not about the war in Iraq, Afghanistan, Viet Nam, Korea, WWI, or WWII, but all the wars of society, past, present and future. Our society is at war with itself everyday, 24 by 7. We see the kidnapping, molesting, beating, lying, cheating, hating, political and religious betrayal, adultery, gangs, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, etc. as problems in our every day lives when what they really are is the all the ways that we have declared war on ourselves. We are not comfortable unless we are fighting with someone. If there is nothing to fight about, we make a reason to. Until we as humans recognize that the war is not outside but inside of us, and until we fix our insides we cannot fix the outside. For any kind ...
