Though Boston's GREATEST HITS package does a fine job of compiling the AOR staple's most-well known tracks ("More Than a Feeling," "Don't Look Back," "Rock & Roll Band"), collectors will want to own this album for the three new songs. "Higher Power" adds a metallic, Blue Oyster Cult-ish spooky edge to the classic Boston formula while "Tell Me" recalls the classic ballad "Amanda." The standout, however, is the multi-layered take on "The Star Spangled Banner," which shows Tom Scholz can Boston-ify even the most well-worn chestnuts.

MUST HAVE for any classic rock fan Nothing beats this Greatest Hits album! The melodic structure of these songs combined with Scholz's amazing song writing abilities makes for a very smooth, great sounding album. If you like classic rock you will love Boston's greatest hits. I had this album for about 4 years before it was misplaced and the music still didn't get old. Nice Compilation Tip of the hat to Tom Scholz and Co. for a nice collection of an era of music. While the critics say Boston didn't make albums quick enough, so be it. This CD does a nice job of representing the classic debut CD, as well as tracks like Feelin Satisfied and Don't Look Back from the second effort and Cool the Engines and the ballad Amanda from Third Stage. I would have loved to see Cant You Say from Third Stage and What's Your Name from the CD Walk On but I still credit Tom for doing a solid job in putting together a full collection from this underrated band. EXCELENT ALBUM....BUT AFTER A GREAT AND BRILLIANT RELEASE OF THE GREATEST ROCK AND ROLL BAND EVER I WISH THAT THEY INCLUDED THE SONG "HOLLYANNE" FROM 3RD STAGE. TO ME THAT SONG AND MAYBE "WERE READY" WOULD HAVE MADE THIS RELEASE MORE THAN JUST PERFECT. BUT THIS STUFF IS JUST TOO GOOD TO PUT DOWN. THIS BAND AND THIS CD ROCKS!!!!!
