G3 LIVE IN CONCERT matches six-time Grammy Award nominee Joe Satriani with three-time Grammy nominee Steve Vai, and Grammy winner Eric Johnson. The CD documents the group's 1996 North American tour, and features three tracks apiece by each of the guitarists as well as three no-holds-barred jams featuring all three axe-men.
G3 LIVE IN CONCERT is sure to please all lovers of guitar wizardry. This high-energy CD showcases the eclectic compositional skills of the three men, with tracks featuring everything from pumped-up fusion grooves to funk-infused rhythms and jazz-flavored numbers. Each tune, though, is really a vehicle for the soaring guitar pyrotechnics for which Vai, Satriana and Johnson are famous.

G3 Live This Guitar concert is the best concert I ever heard. I like the 3 songs of Joe, the Answers and FTLOG of Steve Vai, and Manhattan by Eric Johnson. The sound of Steve's guitar in Answers and FTOG are the best guitar sound I've ever heard. That's all! Submitted by baladev_abad (Philippines) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Stop reading this and buy it! This is a truly magnificant peice of work. Eric Johnson has never sounded better, Steve Vai puts in one of his best performances also. Satch in 'cool no.9' and 'Flying in a Blue Dream' is at his best since the Extremist tour.
When all three join together for some classic tracks at the end, it is a moment to be cherished for all guitar fans.

stars come together you have to give credit to joe satch for thinking of this awesome event of bringing the world greatest guitar players together. joe satch starting off with a great set with flying in a blue dream obviously being his best song of the night and then eric johnson with his laid back jazzy/blues sound and then steve vai with his fantastic rendition of answers, the unforgettable performance of for the love of god and the attitude song but finally coming together fot the jam with on the spot guitar wizardry from all men. Id say the only glitch would be when eric johnson stand at the back of joe and steve while they bust out the awesome impov ive ever seen. But otherwise the best album by all three together.

Axeman's Paradise Bring the premier axemen of the world together and the results are stunning. An eclectic mix of sounds that is hard to duplicate. Satriani and Vai are outstanding with their musical pyrotechics but it is Johnson, who ,with his jazz influenced sound and immaculate guitarwork, stands head and shoulders above the others. The threesome join forces for the last three numbers and expand the realms of creativity. An unforgettable experience. Submitted by a reviewer (Englewood, CO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
