If the 47-minute HISTORY IN THE MIX part of this record--remixes from his flop 1995 album--fails almost entirely, it's because the remixers take out the best parts, Jackson's individualized beats..." Q (6/00, p.122) - 3 stars out of 5 - "...Tones down some of the original's more overwrought elements with 8 remixes from dance heavyweights such as David Morales, Frankie Knuckles and Todd Terry....Most bizarre, but most effective."

Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All 9 Reviews Dance the night away This cd is a great remix cd. Fast paced songs help you dance the night away with very fashionable tunes. The only bad thing I can say is that 4 of the songs sound kind of the same with their beats and stuff. All in all tough its a great cd, and I would suggest picking it up. The Biggest selling remix album of all times. Michael Jackson is one of the greatest artists of all time. The album Blood on the Dance Floor is one of the best pieces of work by Michael Jackson. This album is not thought of to be a Bad or Thriller because it has several remixes in it. If you were a Michael Jackson fan in the 1980's when Bad or Thriller came out and you buy this album you will see how much Michael Jackson grew as a musician. This album is the biggest selling remix album of all time. Here is a brief description of the tracks.
Blood on the Dance Floor: The beat to this song is similar to Remember the Time from Dangerous.
Morphine is a song about the negative effects of drugs. It is a rock song. This song is only produced by the singer.
Superfly Sister This song is slightly slower than the the other songs on the album but the good thing about this song is that every line rhymes which makes it sound very beautiful.
Ghosts This is one of Michaels best songs ever. This song is excellent for dance.

The 5 new songs are outstanding,"turned up loud" EG.BLOOD ON THE DANCEFLOOR AND GHOSTS.
Well worth getting for these couple of tunes. Submitted by a reviewer (KENT, UNITED KINGDOM) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Encouraging This little nugget of a recording proves that MJ stil has the talent where it counts. Who ese could write a song in 1989 (Blood on the Dance Floor), and then release it, as a #1 hit all over the world, in 1997?
Morphine is a self-produced masterpiece. Totally and utterly captivating, it reveals every facet of modern music capabilities. The remaining three Jackson tracks are interesting and funky numbers that have at least partially softened the pain of waiting for another album.
Being an MJ could not be easy. Having to wait 4-5 years for a new album puts all the but strongest of them off. Blood on the Dance Floor/History in the Mix was fuel to the fire, really. Those who criticise it really don't understand exactly why it was released.
Furthermore, those who criticise it might also note the following:
a) it has sold over 5 million copies, world-wide, making it the biggest selling remix album of all time...yet another record for the King of Pop.
b) it was awarded a brilliant 4-star review in Q Magazine. Enough said. Submitted by s_cooked (Mt. Nelson, TAS, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
