"All Around The World" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video.
Shamelessly enamored of The Beatles, Oasis uses BE HERE NOW to serve up another heaping platter of larger-than-life rock and roll garnished with Fab Fourisms. Noel Gallagher's ambitious songwriting and production (which, not coincidentally, was done at Abbey Road) result in an average song length of almost six minutes and the full, gnarly guitar sound that's become Oasis' trademark. "Magic Pie" and "All Around The World" incorporate brassy orchestration reminiscent of "Let It Be," while the former's name seems a less-than-subtle nod to Macca's FLAMING PIE album released a few months prior.
Aside from the band's constant worship at the Beatles shrine, Gallagher occasionally draws from other sources, sharply addressing the uncertainty of fame with the slam-bang rock and roll of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" and the latter-day Stone Roses sound of "Fade In-Out" which prominently features guest Johnny Depp's slide guitar. With their nemesis Blur busy trolling the noisy depths of lo-fi, American indie rock, BE HERE NOW proves to be another jewel in the crown of Brit-pop, which is now perched more firmly than ever on the collective, if occasionally swollen, head of Oasis.

Rolling Stone (9/4/97, pp.65-66) - 4 Stars (out of 5) - "...'60s and '70s rock classicism writ large and loud, all broad strokes and bullish enthusiasm....[Noel Gallagher] fires up sing-along hooks with industrial-strength glam-rock licks..." Entertainment Weekly (9/5/97, pp.72-73) - "...They're still angling for the set-in-Stones title of the World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band....a truly massive attack, a thick-as-Guinness crunch of guitars and drums all cranked to 11....each track [is crammed] with keyboards...sound effects, and layer upon layer of Noel's twisting, shimmering guitar overdubs..." - Rating: B Q (1/98, p.114) - Included in Q Magazine's "50 Best Albums of 1997." Be Here Now Music Review Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews BE HERE NOW Not the Best Oasis album but one of them. "Don't Go Away," "All Around the World," "Stand By Me," and "D'ya Know What I Mean." The only reason I don't give it a 5 is because all of the songs aren't as good, as opposed to "(What's the Story) Morning Glory" and "The Masterplan" where all of the songs are good. Great! Perhaps the best Oasis album ever.
This band is 10 out of 10. Submitted by carlosdz (Xalapa, Veracruz,Mexico) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Good, but not Morning Glory. I like the new sound that Oasis has brought to the table, but there still isn't one song one this album that can hold a candle to "Champagne Supernova" when it comes to drive and rhythem in the music. Eventhough it's not there best, these lads can still rock the heck out! Submitted by payttdogg (Danville, IN, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I NEED SOME HELP, PLZZZZ Anyone have this amazin album......
Ive got this weird copy, where track 7 is named 'fade in-outa', NOT 'fade in-out, its mentioned this way two times, but its named, 'fade in-out' lower on the page. It only has a folded cover, the front and the back of the inside, no song-words or anything. The disk is also really weird because its gold, not official gold, but in colour, with only oasis, and beneath, be here now written boldly across the top. iTS GOT 'MITSUI GOLD' written around the hole in the CD, and has also got writtten on the CD, 'DIGITAL AUDIO', with 'DDD' below in a box on the left side, and 'COMPACT DISK' on the right side. You can also kinda see through the disk. It is gold on both sides.
CAN SOME ONE PLZZZ TELL ME WHAT CD I ACTUALLY HAVE. IT IS AN OFFICIAL OASIS ALBUM, BE HERE NOW, BUT I DONT KNOW WHY NO ONE HAS THIS AND CALLS ME CRAZY WHEN I TELL THEM.
ANY FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPECIATED

Be Here Now album
$8.85 It's okay, America, you can come out now! We don't sound like Duran Duran anymore! Me and the rest of the lads had us a meeting and decided it was time to give the eighties thing a bit of a rest. Don't worry, we didn't throw away all our fab analog synth gear, we just updated things a little. We moved out of that expensive umpteen-track studio and into our mate's mum's garage to get just the right feel for this one. We were so busy reinventing our sound that we didn't even have time to come up ...

On BRINGING DOWN THE HORSE, The Wallflowers refine their roots-rock and bring their considerable talents into focus. Now it's clear what distinguishes them from the rest of the roots-rock pack, and it's not just their convincing vintage musical chops. Singer/songwriter Jakob Dylan (son of Bob) has developed a knack for elliptical, imagistic lyrics that still convey urgent emotions. The intriguing collection of songs Dylan wrote for BRINGING DOWN THE HORSE catalogs the disillusionment and frustration he sees in himself and around him.

Be Here Now songs
$9.79 FAT OF THE LAND was nominated for a 1998 Grammy for Best Rock Album.
Among the most anticipated releases of 1997, The Prodigy's third full-length album is a bulldozing rock-techno hybrid. But while the guitar/samples/hyper-beats mosaic that made "Firestarter" an MTV breakout are found in every nook and cranny of this album, the overall building blocks are far more diverse, making it a tangible melting pot of pre-millennium pop styles.
There's a definite hip-hop element here. "Diesel ...
