Eminently photogenic pop vocalist Amy Grant's holiday album A CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER is a pleasant collection that mixes Christmas standards, stirring instrumentals, and some of Grant's own late-winter compositions. Throughout, the singer receives generous backing support from the Patrick Williams Orchestra and Choir, as well as the Nashville Studio Orchestra.
Originals include the album-opening title track as well as the delicate "Christmas Lullaby," on which Grant shares the spotlight with child vocalist Grace Stumb. The strains of bagpipes introduce the orchestral instrumental "Highland Cathedral." Grant's Entertainment Weekly (12/10/99, p.107) - "...her most religious album in eons, her unstrained voice providing balm for the post-mall jitters..." - Rating: B-

Christmas to Remember Music Review
Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) Very nice arrangements, too many slow songs This CD has a lot of great arrangements, it's an interesting mix of traditional Christmas songs (e.g. "Silent Night") and new compositions (nice Country Pop "A Christmas to remember"). I love the funny arrangements of "Mister Santa" (a Christmas variation of "Mister Sandman") and "Jingle Bell Rock"), both with great backing vocals. There are a little bit too many slow songs in the second half of the CD, but in total it's absolutely worth buying, so many fresh ideas on old songs, thank you, Amy, with "A Christmas to remember" and "Home for Christmas" you made my two favourite Christmas albums.
