Great American Songbook: Live At Donte's album
$38.09 DREAMS is a 4-CD box set compiling in chronological order tracks by the Allman Brothers Band, as well as tracks by bands featuring one or more member of the Allman Brothers Band and solo performances by Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts.
Recorded between 1966 & 1988. Includes a 32-page illustrated booklet and liner notes by John Swenson.
Like nearly all box sets, DREAMS has plenty to recommend it-and a few nagging drawbacks. The set's chief shortcoming is its two conflicting goals: providing an overview of the Allmans' history, thus attracting buyers seeking the ultimate hits package, and including enough unreleased tracks and rarities to appeal to the band's most devoted fans. As a result, DREAMS is neither the definitive Allman Brothers collection nor the gift to hardcore fans that, say, THE BOOTLEG SERIES is to Dylan-philes.
DREAMS' strengths are considerable. First and foremost, the box contains nearly five wall-to-wall hours of great music. By including everything from early ...

Great American Songbook: Live At Donte's CD music
$16.45 ROGER HURRICANE WILSON'S second CD release "Live From The Eye Of The Storm" will be a true delight for bluesrock guitar fans. From the late 1970's through the mid 1980's Wilson was a music teacher that taught hundreds of students how to play guitar. When you listen to his first live CD on Hottrax Records, you'll both hear and experience the natural "blues feel" in his playing that cannot be taught. It is this natural "feel" or "musical expression" that constitutes the pure essence of the Blues.Any devotee of guitar trios will certainly enjoy this live CD that includes some truly great solo improvisations on seven catchy originals ...
| | Lionel Richie Just For You CD (2004) (Import) Argentina
Great American Songbook: Live At Donte's music CDs
$20.99 Lionel Richie's talent for crafting picture-perfect pop songs cannot be understated. In fact, his remarkable success during the 1970s and '80s, as both the leader of the Commodores and a solo artist, often overshadows his reputation as a remarkably deft songwriter. His singles--"Hello," "Still," and "Sail On," for example--could seem subdued and simple, but they each contained a certain melancholy mood and stories within stories, like successively smaller Russian dolls. After virtually vanishing for over a decade following his multi-platinum record DANCING ON THE CEILING, he resurfaced in the late '90s.
JUST FOR YOU is the third album by this reborn Lionel Richie, and it finds him getting comfortable in his new mode, which is refreshingly close to the pop classics he penned years before. The album is stocked full of simple yet multifaceted pop songs swimming in hooks; there's a dash of R&B from his old days, especially ...
| | Rogue Wave Out Of The Shadow CD (2004) Remastered
Great American Songbook: Live At Donte's songs
$11.75 Although it practically defined "grunge" in the early 1990s with albums by Nirvana, Mudhoney, and Soundgarden, Sub Pop Records hit a slump at the end of the decade. However, around 2003, the label was reinvigorated by the success of the Shins, the Postal Service, and Iron & Wine, newer artists that placed melody over pure volume. The San Francisco quartet Rogue Wave was one of the first bands signed to Sub Pop after this renaissance, and its easy to see why--the group plays 1960s-inspired pop that veers into both folk and rock territory.
Rogue Wave's debut, OUT OF THE SHADOW, opens with the chiming guitars and prominent vocal harmonies of "Every Moment." ...
