Following in the footsteps of many, the soundtrack for Martin Scorcese's Goodfellas (based on Nicholas Pileggi's Wiseguy) uses period music for definition -- in this case, however, music from the '40s through the early '70s is utilized. The selections themselves are all good -- well chosen and not overused songs that range from "Rags to Riches," sung by Tony Bennett, to "Layla (Piano Exit)" from Derek & the Dominos, passing through "Speedo" from the Cadillacs, "Life Is But a Dream" from the Harptones, "Baby I Love You" from Aretha Franklin (in fine voice here), and "Sunshine of Your Love" from Cream. It's a little on the short side at 38 minutes. Other than that, it's an even dozen songs, from good to great, and particular care seems to have been taken with the remastering -- standouts in that respect are the opening "Rags to Riches," the Franklin and Cream numbers, and Muddy Waters' stomping, snorting rendition of "Mannish Boy." this could be a double L.P. soundtrack,lots of songs missing, But who buys sondtracks anymore. I gave it three stars only because of the missing tunes other than that the it s a TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey Im a fan on mostly love movies and comedy but I loved this movie.It's about love, life, money, family, everything. It's funny It's gangsta It's all in one
I thought I wouldn't like it, but me and my mom are hooked on it. I could watch it for days
I love Joe Pesci, Ray Liotta and Robert DeNiro, I wish I could meet them major props for that movie
A Brooklyn Tale is almost like it..it has that same flow..

A satirical mixture of genre movie clichés, sexual deviance, and rock & roll, The Rocky Horror Show is not your average musical. But you'd think it was in this studio cast recording from Great Britain's Jay Records, part of a series of recordings of popular musicals. The Jay Original Masterworks Edition series boasts the use of the original, book, music, lyrics, and orchestrations. But almost every recording of The Rocky Horror Show, as well as the movie soundtrack, has employed Richard Hartley's original orchestrations, which are pretty basic rock & roll arrangements. The issue is not so much the orchestrations as how they're played, and the NSO Ensemble, presumably a subset of the National Symphony Orchestra, plays these ones as tamely as possible. Producer John Yap then compounds the problem by mixing the music low and pushing the vocals up front. The cast members include several stage veterans who have appeared in many companies of the show around the world but have not been heard previously on record, notably Howard Samuels in the key role of Frank'N'Furter and Tim Flavin as Brad Majors. There is also some stunt casting, led by Christopher Lee as the Narrator. While Lee, who appeared in many of the Hammer horror films Rocky Horror is spoofing, would seem like an ideal choice, he usually sounds like he's about to fall asleep. ...
