This CD is so moving and has wonderful songs that you can relax to. Nice songs to dance and some to think about life.

Phil Collins "Hits" a homerun
"Phil Collins ...Hits" is a delightful collection of his excellent work. Everyone who has heard it in my house has wanted to order their own copy! I highly recommend this CD to anyone who enjoys good music and this stellar performer.

This is a fine collection and deserves a 5 star rating, but would have been even better with the following: Long, Long Way To Go, Don't Lose My Number, Inside Out. I am sure there is even more unsung hits, that should have been included. We will have to wait for a more expanded hits collection.

Thankfully, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN doesn't skimp on tracks from Michael's classic solo debut, and tracks like Bo Diddley beat-driven "Faith" and the lusty, Prince-like "I Want Your Sex" sound as fresh as ever. Later cuts show Michael's maturation as both a vocalist and songwriter, and collaborations with Elton John and bossa nova legend Astrud Gilberto serve to emphasize the wide stylistic range Michael is capable of traversing.

Alanis has a lot to answer for; in the process of changing the face of '90s pop music, she opened the door to scores of inferior imitators who crowded the charts with their transparent careerist fury. What they missed was the renegade spirit that lurks beneath Morissette's statements off vengeance and dissatisfaction. It's that spirit that enlivens INFATUATION JUNKIE. From awkward title to the unconventional lyrical construction, it's clear that the years between this album and Morisette's previous breakthrough recording have not dulled her iconoclasm or put soft edges on her anger. INFATUATION JUNKIE is at once more immediate and more artfully constructed than its predecessor. Songs like "Baba" are full of thrusting guitars and sledgehammer rhythms, but from "Front Row" to "So Pure," Morissette displays an expanded understanding of pop song mechanics. It's this melodic progression that helps INFATUATION JUNKIE live up to Morissette's daunting past.

The archetypal singer-songwriter introspection of "Your Song" kicks things off, giving way in short order to the more glam pop moments of "Honky Cat" and "Saturday Night's All Right For Fighting." The Roy Orbison-like ballad "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" and the moving, mournful "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word" represent the sadder side of the usually sunny popster. The second disc digs into Elton's later work, coming up with such gems as the surprisingly rocking "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That" and the Beatleseque "I Want Love," the latter proving that the 21st century found Elton still standing, in artistic terms.
All tracks have been digitally remastered.
