| | Taproot Gift CD Taproot Discography of CDs
(11 Customer Reviews)
This is an Enhanced audio CD which contains regular audio tracks and multimedia computer file.
While Taproot could be hastily labeled a rapcore band, there's a great deal more here than a series of grooving, detuned riffs. Vocalist Stephen Richards is sure to catch the attention of Faith No More fans with his schizophrenic vocal approach, especially on tracks such as "Mentobe" and "Believed."
Love/hate contradictions and self-loathing are the focus of "I Am" and "Mirror's Reflection," while "Dragged Down" laments over a friend who has become an emotional vampire. The Mike Patton comparisons are unavoidable on tracks such as "Emotional Times" and the particularly mosh-worthy "1 Nite Stand." The high-strung, positive energy of "Smile" and the heartfelt "Now" show the many dimensions and diversity of a band whose finger is firmly on the pulse of modern heavy music.

Gift Music Review Average Rating: (3.5 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews awesome When you go to shows there are usually street-teamers passing out demos and shwag. I was fortunate enough to get a hold of Taproot's demo and it gave me chills. I would define their music as cool; it really is cool music. The way they carry themselves really comes through in their music. As they gave Fred Durst the notorious "F-U" phone message, they quickly rose to the top of bands I had to hear, and they delivered. Totally rad music. I can listen to "Gift" in any mood and relate to all of their songs. Great live show, no frills. "Again & Again" resonates well with me and always sends chills down my spine. Unique When I first started into the depper and darker rock and roll, Taproot was one of the first groups I got into. They have a very unique sound, to this day unmatched - this cd is full of personal energy that is from the heart. Submitted by Austin (Maumee, Ohio) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
This is a far cry of what Welcome has become This is a band at tender ages below 25. I've musta borrowed this at least once to check my senses to compare this to their latest and favorite CD, Blue-Sky Research. Production is different. Stephen Richards vocals here are a far-cry from what's being heard on Blue-Sky Research. No offense. Really |-<>. Submitted by orangegreendesolate (Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? not a fan of nu metal a all but this is a great album.
Great songs, with more to them than your avergae nu metal crap band like linkin park.
Highly recommended for heavy rock fans.

great nu-metal Best nu-metal to come out since deftones. IF you can't see the greatness in nu-metal, than you might not be able to appreciate this cd. I personally don't think nu-metal is a good genre, but for that genre, taproot does a good job at keeping it interesting. Submitted by zola (Flint, MI, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
