Best single from pele while "talula" isn't a huge fave, the
B-sides on this maxi are. despite the red head herself has admitted to supposidly penning "frog on my toe" while a bit tipsy, you certainly cannot tell. its a beautiful and heartfelt song
that seems to be about her cherokee
grandpa("papa")and "samurai"demonstrates
how powerful this woman's vocals can be when she is simply singing non-sense into the mic from a nearby book!
fans of long(very long!!) remixes will like the "talula" one featured and the cover from a british band ("london girls") is quite impressive, too! Submitted by an honorary faerie (somewhere CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
$5.95 Though Tori Amos's 1992 five-track EP, CRUCIFY, is made up primarily of cover songs, it is still a highly recommended work for her fans. A piano-based, tranquil reworking of Nirvana's teen-angst anthem "Smells Like Teen Spirit" remains Tori's best-known cover song, while versions of the Rolling Stones' "Angie" and Led Zeppelin's "Thank You" are solid ballads as well. Also included is one of Amos' most beautiful originals, "Winter," plus a remixed version of the title track, which is shorter than the original and adds more guitars to the mix.
$6.09 Like Tori Amos's 1992 EP CRUCIFY, 1996's five-track HEY JUPITER is made up of a remixed title track, plus other none-album selections. While the earlier EP primarily features covers, HEY JUPITER includes live material. The remixed version of "Hey Jupiter" contains different background music from the original (which is included on BOYS FOR PELE), while in-concert versions of "Sugar," "Honey," "Professional Widow," and a beautiful reading of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" make HEY JUPITER a highly recommended purchase for Tori disciples everywhere.
Personnel: Tori Amos (vocals); Steve Caton (guitar); Justin Meldal-Johnsen (bass); Andy Ling (programming).
$6.55 Sarah McLeod, Australia's first lady of Rock, gets remix treatment to devastating effect. 'He Doesn't Love You' began life as a track from her 2006 album Beauty Was A Tiger, which is Sarah's first solo album since departing her front woman role in The Superjesus. Fellow Aussie, HooknSling (Ministry of Sound) has delivered an electro-tinged work-out that sits between house and breaks with a fat Rock edge to it!
$7.89 Magnet Man's latest self penned, self produced song, 'ESKAPE TO THE MUZIC FOR AFRICA' is the Official UNICEF-Bremen's campaign song for "Schools For Africa" and "Kids & Aids" Campaigns.
