Over the years, Lindsey Buckingham has written some of Fleetwood Mac's best known songs, including "Go Your Own Way" and "Second Hand News." Buckingham is often seen by Mac fans as the dark, eccentric member of the group, and his first solo recording, LAW AND ORDER, does little to dispel that notion.
LAW AND ORDER makes it plain that it was Buckingham's influence that occasionally nudged the affable and accessible pop band to the outer reaches of pop peculiarity, most particularly on their oddball opus, TUSK. LAW AND ORDER includes the fine hit single, "Trouble," which features a jaw-dropping Buckingham guitar solo. (Buckingham plays nearly all of the instruments on this release, showcasing his fierce musicality throughout.) In addition to "Trouble," LAW AND ORDER also features the pop gem "Love from Here, Love from There." There are also a handful of interesting cover songs on this 11-song, 1981 release, including the country standard, "A Satisfied Mind," and Kurt Weill's "September Song."
Personnel: Lindsey Buckingham (vocals, various instruments); George Hawkins (bass); Carol Harris, Christine McVie (background vocals).
Engineers: Richard Dashut, David Brown.

Just As I Remembered... His hit single "Trouble" is as infectious as any of the Fleetwood Mac hits, and from beginning to end, the album offers up one little treat after another. I have this album on vinyl and finally replaced it on CD. It's just as I remembered, fun, and I'm glad to be able to listen to it again. Get the facts straight To the other reviewer from Chicago, you know nothing about music, apparently. Lindsey Buckingham is neither from Chicago (born, raised and lives in So Cal), nor was he ever in the Buckinghams. Please do a little research, it will keep you from embarassing yourself. This cd is okay, nothing special. Submitted by timothky68 (Chicago. IL) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I think I'm in trouble... Honestly, I only bought Buckingham's solo debut record for only one tune, "Trouble". I remember hearing this song occasionly on the late-nite syndicated 'Coast to Coast' am radio talk show with George Noore or Art Bell used as bumper music, and it cought on me really big. I had to find out what tune it was as I had no idea who the heck performed the number, so I finally did a song search online and found it. To be honest, I still love the song. Lyrically, it is weak, but the melodies and harmonies are incredible. I've never heard anything quite like it before or since. Sadly, I don't find much enjoyment in the rest of the tunes on this short LP, but to me "Trouble" alone is worth the ten dollars I spent for the disc. I'm not sure if this tune hits anyone the way it does me when I listen to it, but it really does something for me I can't explain. It is music that really connects. | | Lindsey Buckingham Out Of The Cradle CD (1992)
Law And Order
$5.99 Featuring the impossibly catchy hit, "Countdown," Lindsey Buckingham's third solo release, 1992's OUT OF THE CRADLE, includes 14 songs, along with two short, but notable, guitar instrumentals. Buckingham is often lauded as a writer of tart pop confection, but OUT OF THE CRADLE also showcases his excellent guitar playing, which has only improved over the years. Like his other solo recordings, Buckingham's ...

| | Alexis Korner Kornerstoned: Anthology 1958-1983 CD (2004) (Import) United Kingdom
Law And Order
$22.39 While MUSICALLY RICH...AND FAMOUS documents the second half of British blues godfather Alexis Korner's career, KORNERSTONED adopts a more comprehensive approach, following the pioneering singer/guitarist from the very beginning of his musical life, all the way through every subsequent phase of his development. So we get not only his mid-1960s work with burgeoning blues-rock giants like Paul Rodgers and Steve Marriott, but also his `50s skiffle recordings (basically the British version of jug-band music) with the Ken Colyer band and his own skiffle group, and even an early acoustic guitar duel with famed fingerpicker Davey Graham on "3/4 A.D." Over the course of its two discs, this collection examines pretty much every aspect of this seminal bandleader's historic ...
| | Lindsey Buckingham Under The Skin CD (2006)
Law And Order
$15.65 Despite being the principal songwriter and sound architect for Fleetwood Mac, one of the biggest selling pop/rock bands in music history, Lindsey Buckingham's standing as "pop genius" has always been a topic of debate amongst rock musos. UNDER THE SKIN (2006), Buckingham's first solo album in nearly 15 years, contains all of the hallmarks of the artist's singular approach and presents a solid illustration of his musical brilliance. A studio scientist if there ever was one, Buckingham surrounds his acoustic-based songs (many of which hint at the aforementioned discussion over his legacy) with the same pristine, near-compulsively textured production that made ...

| | Three Sounds Elegant Soul CD (1968)
Law And Order
$10.65 ELEGANT SOUL (1968) was the penultimate release by the Three Sounds, and sees them leaving behind the cool instrumental jazz that had typified most of their previous output, and moving more decisively in the direction of easy-listening pop. While the group had always had something of a light, accessible take on post-bop, ELEGANT SOUL, with its string arrangements and pop-oriented ambitions, finds them crossing over into easy listening. The 2008 reissue, part of a Blue Note reissue project targeting rare groove collectors and fans of soul-jazz, contextualizes the album for what it is: a unique ...
