With powerhouse drummer Sheila E. and synthesizer wizard Dr. Fink still remaining from Prince's classic mid-to-late-'80s band, LOVESEXY is an all-out funk assault, aimed squarely at the dancefloor. The elaborate, genre-crossing arrangements of PURPLE RAIN give way to an irresistibly propulsive dance-funk-rock aesthetic. Basic, primal rhythms, gritty sax and chattering, funky rhythm guitar help drive the long, foot-moving tunes. As usual, the lyrics tend toward the carnal, and as dance-oriented an album as LOVESEXY, that lascivious sensibility just helps to push the whole thing along. The romantic ballad "When 2 R In Love" provides an effective change of pace, but don't expect to sit down for long once LOVESEXY gets underway.

LOVESEXY !!!!!!! I love this album, i think its brilliant. Where 2 start, Alphabet Street is still fresh, Glam Slam,When 2 R In Love, I Wish U Heaven r my favorites. But, the best song on this album is ANNA STESIA, u have 2 listen 2 that song even if ur not a prince fan.Above all,dont even call urself a prince fan if u do NOT have this album. princefan2thaend This was by far the best prince album that i have ever heard. I was 17 when this album came out and i was overwhelmed with the way that prince decided to release this epic album. What more can i say except that this album proves that he is a musical genius!!!!!!! This is a concept album ; so prince intends the listener to listen to this album from beginning to end thats why its continues non-stop. BUY THIS ALBUM! The only thing...... i have not listened to that album in years ,which will change today.I can say this though...the only thing that turned me off about this album was the continous track .Other than that it is a great album.It does take you on a journey. .doesn't it?The production is off the chain. I must agree with you it is very strange to this such a great LP without enough fans rewiew but the picture harm the great value of the LP . last day I told my other prince fan at Ivory coast that it is was made before its time the core this LP will fit into the 1995 era not 88 and most of die hard fan are not young like before ! most of Prince are over 30 years !
