In 1992, a reunion of the Black Sabbath mark II lineup occurred, garnering a sigh of relief from the worldwide fans of the group. In the '80s and early '90s, the metal outfit went through countless personnel changes and perhaps should have been ... Full Descriptioncalled The Tony Iommi Project. This reunion with Ronnie James Dio was a precursor to the four original members reuniting in December 1997.
DEHUMANIZER is a thunderously heavy album. The band sported a "take no prisoners" attitude in showing they could rock even harder than a decade earlier. "TV Crimes," the album's first single, is a fast and furious number featuring the drumming talents of Vinny Appice. Songs like "Masters of Insanity" and "Sins of the Father" contribute to the album's dark feel. "Time Machine" is the standout track, and a second version from the WAYNE'S WORLD 2 soundtrack is featured. Dio's voice ages like fine wine, and Geezer Butler's inventive bass line dominates the track. DEHUMANIZER is the sweet fruit of this mark II reunion.
Recorded at Rockfield Studios, Wales, England.
Black Sabbath: Ronnie James Dio (vocals); Tony Iommi (guitar); Geezer Butler (bass); Vinny Appice (drums).
Additional personnel: Geoff Nicholls (keyboards).

$9.19 While Black Sabbath remained one of heavy metal's top concert draws throughout the late '70s, the band's albums of the era proved to not be on par with its earlier work. This creative weakness was what caused vocalist Ozzy Osbourne to split from the band in 1979 to launch a highly successful solo career. Sabbath used the opportunity to refocus its direction, eventually replacing the group's batty frontman with ex-Rainbow member Ronnie James Dio. The new line-up's first album, 1980's HEAVEN AND HELL, proved to be Black Sabbath's most successful (both commercially and artistically) in a long time. The opening number, "Neon Knights," remains one of Sabbath's most ferocious, while "Children of the Sea" alternates ...

Dehumanizer CD music
$8.89 Black Sabbath had put itself back on track both musically and commercially with the 1980 album HEAVEN AND HELL, as the addition of new vocalist Ronnie James Dio was the shot in the arm Sabbath needed. A follow-up was released one year later, MOB RULES, which follows in the same mega-decibel approach as its predecessor. While it is still a vast improvement over Sabbath's final two albums with Ozzy Osbourne (1976's TECHNICAL ECSTASY and 1978's NEVER SAY DIE), it doesn't exactly match the inspired performances and top compositions featured on HEAVEN AND HELL.
The opening track, "Turn Up the Night," kicks off the album with a jolt of electricity, while other hard rocking highlights include the mid-paced "Voodoo" and the raging title track--the latter would be featured on the soundtrack to the cult animated movie, HEAVY METAL. Another standout was the near eight-minute epic "The Sign of the Southern Cross," which starts as a gentle acoustic composition, before transforming into a classic slice of plodding Sabbath metal. Although Dio had been a major factor in returning Sabbath back from the dead, he would leave the ...

$7.59 Dio's 1984 follow-up, LAST IN LINE, benefited greatly from MTV's airing of the video clip for the title track. Guitarist Vivian Campbell (who later joined Whitesnake and Def Leppard) establishes himself as one of the genre's top shredders of the day, while keyboardist Claude Schnell gives the music a gothic feel. The album earned Dio his second gold record (LAST IN LINE was later certified platinum), and the band was soon headlining in arenas. Highlights include the anthemic "We Rock," "Mystery," "I Speed At Night," "Evil Eyes," and the epic album closer "Egypt (The Chains Are On)."
Ronnie James Dio's first solo release after departing from Black Sabbath was 1983's surprise hit HOLY DIVER, which featured such metal classics as "Rainbow In the Dark" and the riff-heavy title track. While most heavy metal bands of the '80s favored either glam or thrash, Dio specialized in "thinking man's metal." Dio was one of the first hard rock vocalists to sing in an operatic style. His lyrics also strayed from metal's beaten ...

By 1984, Kiss had been unmasked for a year and Alice Cooper was on hiatus. But L.A. bands like W.A.S.P. (which stood for "We Are Sexual Perverts") were picking up the theatrical, shock-metal slack quite nicely. The band would wear eerie make-up, tight leather, and knee-high boots, while wielding a variety of outlandish props. Musically, W.A.S.P. specialized in mega-decibel heavy metal, as evidenced by the group's gold-certified self-titled debut.
W.A.S.P. contains two of the band's most popular tracks (the scream-along anthems "I Wanna Be Somebody" and "L.O.V.E. Machine)" and many other compositions that fans of '80s metal will find gratifying. Highlights include the rockers "The Flame," "School Daze," "Hellion," "On Your Knees," and "The Torture Never Stops," plus the ballad (by W.A.S.P. standards, anyway) "Sleeping In the Fire."
A classic album re-mastered and repackaged in a stunning digipack. Three bonus tracks: Animal (@#$ Like A Beast) (Bonus Track 7"/12" A Side), Show No Mercy (Bonus Track 7" B-Side), and Paint It Black (Bonus Track 7" B-Side)

DIO CAN STILL BURN WITH TONY IOMMI EVEN THOUGH THEIR ON SEPERATE ROADS DIO & SABBATH CAN STILL MELT TOGETHER MY HIGHEST REGARDS TO ALL THEIR MELTING THOUGHTS LOVE NEAL Submitted by a reviewer (WHITEWATER WI USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Sabbath's Best I have to say this is Sabbath's best album. There is no way that anything they do with Ozzy can top this gem. Too bad they couldn't get it together to do the follow-up. Rumor has it that Tony Martin was supposed to do the vocals for this one. Good thing he didn't although Cross Purposes was also a great follow up to this. In all honesty, Black Sabbath can never top this one. This is the better Sabbath line up. Submitted by tastecoldsteel (my home, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
One of the Best Black Sabbath Albums ever! This album is the only post Ozzy Sabbath album that truly lives up to the name Black Sabbath. Well, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules do too, but Dehumanizer is the only one that covers some of the same toppics of the Early Ozzy Years. For the whole latter half of the 80's The material By "Sabbath" wasnt really sabbath, This is the frst real Sabbath album since Mob rules. Submitted by Tex (Texas) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
