Produced by the late Mick Ronson, this record has incredible tension, long before the overblown and unnecessary Morrissey/Rogan feud started. Beat group echoes, doom-laden lyrics and a full atmosphere that conjures up memories of Johnny Kidd And The Pirates, the Ventures and the Pretenders. Solo artists often mellow out and mature, but on this superlative recording, Morrissey paradoxically rocks more than ever and shows further creative maturity. "You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side," "Glamorous Glue," "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful?." How many lyrical odes of gleeful spite can one man produce? Regardless of that question's answer, YOUR ARSENAL is packed with joyfully bitter melancholy, and an almost startling number of modern rock classics.

Average Rating: (4.5 out of 5 stars)    A solid Morrissey release.
The music here is just catchy and summery. His voice, and phrasing, sounds great as always. The lyrics are your standard Morrissey fare, and he seems to be tackling some political issues on some of the songs which is kinda boring.
"You're Gonna Need Someone On Your Side" is a clever rocker and a fine start to the album. "Seasick, Yet Still Docked" is a beautiful lament to wallow in self-pity to. And "Tomorrow" is just pure bittersweet pop heaven. I'd say this is his third best effort of the 90s right after "Vauxhall And I" and the underrated "Malajusted" -

 elvissey alive!!
Surprisingly,I saw this cd in the used cd section for $8.99.I said cool,but not until my next check.About a few days later,I came back,took it to the cashier,who said "excellent choice!".Soon enough I got to my car, popped the cd in the player, and I was blown to the sky from the sound of it,and that was just the first song.I say my fav. song on this truly amazing effort is "Seasick,yet still docked".
