"One Week" was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
STUNT is another tightly wound, witty, melodic Barenaked Ladies album, with songs that range from dangerously manic to contemplative and nearly sweet. The slightly psychotic white boy rap on "One Week" employs wacky lyrical ingenuity, with such lines as "Hot like wasabi when I bust rhymes/Big like LeAnn Rimes." On the other hand, the charm of "In The Car" lies in its twangy alt-country sound and a sense of nostalgia for a more naive time. Barenaked Ladies' lyrics can veer awfully close to being precious, but they avoid crossing the line with a magical combination of intelligence, biting cynicism, and a refusal to take themselves too seriously.

Barenaked Ladies Stunt Songs Stunt Music Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Stunt was good, not the greatest As always, Barenaked Ladies came out with a great record - some highlights are Light Up My Room, Call and Answer, Alcohol, and Some Fantastic. But it's definitely not their best CD - if you want to hear some classic BNL, the best ones to get are Gordon and Rock Spectacle, the more diverse albums. Submitted by a reviewer (Tucson, AZ) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
I don't give out 5 stars easily I've already written reviews on Gordon (5 stars) and MYSD (3 stars). Stunt falls in between those two albums. Stunt is either the first BNL album you should buy (if you're American and you're looking to get One Week) or the second (if you're looking to the best one, get Gordon).
This is a very good album. One Week doesn't require a review, but I love Some Fantastic, Light Up My Room, Call and Answer, Never Is Enough, Told You So, and Who Needs Sleep. Personally, what holds this album back from being a true 5-star album are songs like It's All Been Done and I'll Be That Girl. Stunt Awesome CD, it has cachty tunes and there's not a bad song except for When you Dream, because it's so slow.
This is one of the best CD's I've ever heard. The best songs are One Week and Who Needs Sleep. Submitted by a reviewer (Denver, CO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Barenaked Ladies best CD album of 1998! All of my favorites songs by canada's very own rock'n roll musicians and comedy trio perform every hit I enjoy like "One Week", "It's All Been Done" and "Alcohol". BNL are still always and will be rock sensatinal legends of they're own time ahead to come in the near future! Submitted by philipross (Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada!) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Stunt album
$12.19 Released at the height of the grunge era, this Canadian group's debut was unlike any other album issued in 1992. While the Barenaked Ladies' cheerful pop tends to focus on exhuberant melody, they rock harder than you would expect for a band whose sound relies so heavily of intricate vocal interplay, snapping acoustic bass and fluid acoustic piano work. Though the band has since released several very successful albums, GORDON remains the definitive Barenaked Ladies disc.
Many of their best-known songs are here: including "Be My Yoko Ono," a good natured tribute to John Lennon's often misunderstood wife, a poignant reflection ...
| | Barenaked Ladies Maybe You Should Drive CD (1994)
Stunt CD music
$6.85 Can't get enough of thoughtful lyrics, sweetly strummed acoustics, and charming, new-age guys? Barenaked Ladies' second LP, MAYBE YOU SHOULD DRIVE, embodies these pleasantries, but spices them with a handful of tongue-in-cheek jabs. The band's acoustic, jazzy music bops along as energetically as a Greenpeace canvasser in a newly gentrified neighborhood, but the lyrics read more like the interior monologue than the sales pitch.
Barenaked Ladies' lyrics stab at generational stereotypes, but are surprisingly quiet and radio-ready. ...
