There is a "special message" between tracks 5 and 6 which is found exclusively on the CD.
This album is just damn good fun--a great collection of easy-going rock songs, crafted not to change the world, but certainly to make it just a little brighter. Petty's first solo project (without the Heartbreakers), FULL MOON FEVER shares the goodtime feel of the Traveling Wilburys' contemporary "Handle With Care." This is not altogether surprising; Jeff Lynne co-produced and George Harrison and Roy Orbison guest. The only non-Petty composition is a version of Gene Clark's "Feel A Whole Lot Better," while "Zombie Zoo," a bewildered parent's diatribe on the kids of today, comes perilously close to social commentary.
Recorded in Mike Campbell's Garage, Los Angeles, California.
Engineers include: Mike Cambell, Don Smith, Bill Bottrell.
Personnel: Tom Petty (vocals, acoustic, electric, 6 & 12 string guitars, keyboards, tambourine, handclaps, sound effects); George Harrison (acoustic guitar, background vocals); Mike Campbell (guitar, slide guitar, mandolin, keyboards, bass); Jeff Lynne (guitar, keyboards, bass, handclaps, sound effects, background vocals); Benmont Tench (piano); Jim Keltner (drums, maracas, tambourine); Phil Jones (drums, percussion); Alan Weidel (handclaps); Kelsey Cambell, Del Shannon (sound effects); Howie Epstein, Roy Orbison (background vocals).

It's good to be free.....fallin'! Whatever, this is definitely one of Tom Petty's best ever albums, if not his best. "I Won't Back Down" and "Free Fallin'" are two of his harder edged songs (and two of the best!), and even several songs that weren't big hits could've and should've been, mainly "Yer So Bad" and "Love Is A Long Road." Full-on brilliant. If, like me, you're not a fan of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and you re-named the Travelling Wilburys "the dabbling arsewipes", like me again, then you've probably overlooked this piece of recorded excellence.
Well overlook it no more!!! I advise you to stand in the corner and smell, put on a hat and hide and get this CD pronto.
All the tracks are fundamentally excellent, however "Free fallin'", "Runnin down a dream" and "Zombie zoo" are even better.
Why weren't the Dabbling Arsewipes this good??? Submitted by a reviewer (Somewhere in England.) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
Not One Of His Best Sorry to say this but this is not really one of my favs of Tom Petty. The only track that really hits the spot is his rendition of Gene Clark's(Ex-Byrd)"I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better". Other than that this CD sounds like Tom Petty meets Electric Light Orchestra. Kind of lame if you ask me. Tom you've done much better than this. I rest my case. Submitted by Johnny (Muskegon, MI.) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 0 of 2 found this helpful.
