That's what! A great rock album that you will never get tired of hearing...
while the album is loaded with great, classic songs, with great lyrics from start to finish...the production quality and sound is what also separates it from other rock albums of the same era.
When you listen to this album along with every other Joe Walsh album/CD, you wonder why Joe doesn't tour more...
all of Joe Walsh's music has stood the test of time, has a unique sound and lends itself across a wide rock audience.
"So What" is the benchmark album that will forever define Joe Walsh as an American Rock Icon...
enjoy!

This is the real (Best of Joe) Forget wasting your time and money on the various best of Joe Walsh CD's.
This little gem is a powerhouse rock album with real guts. Joe makes his guitar scream on, (Turn to Stone), and (County Fair). This is a great rock album, it's one of those rare CD's where you want to listen to every song over and over, and you'll never hit the skip song button. If by chance this CD is packaged as a double two for one set along with, (The Smoker You Drink, The Player You Get) grab two copies, one for yourself, and one as a gift. Joe rocks on both records, and these were some of the first studio sessions that he had the chance to perform with Don Henley and Glenn Frey before joining the EAGLES. This is a must have CD! $7.39 Walsh is flanked here by Kenny Pasarelli on bass and Joe Vitale on drums, keyboards, and flute. Production help from Bill Szymczyk helps give the record its signature sound--simultaneously chunky and slick--and brings the effects-heavy sound of Walsh's guitar to the fore. But this is ultimately Walsh's show: he knows how to rock, lilt, and craft a pop hook, all the while maintaining levity with his off-hand vocal delivery and playful lyrics. SMOKER YOU DRINK, PLAYER YOU GET is a solid slice of FM rock fare, and is still one of the standouts in Walsh's solo discography.
"Rocky Mountain Way," the tune that opens Joe Walsh's sophomore release (and remains one of his best-known songs), is a textbook example of Walsh's strengths. The song is driven by a slinky hard rock groove that boasts crunchy, distorted guitars, barrelhouse piano, wiry solos, and a catchy, singalong chorus--proving Walsh's penchant for mixing rock elements and radio-ready accessibility with a sense of wit and fun. The rest of SMOKER YOU DRINK, PLAYER YOU GET follows suit, with the mid-tempo ...
| | James Gang Rides Again CD (1970) Remastered
So What album
$7.85 By virtue of containing "Funk #49," if for no other reason, RIDES AGAIN, the second album from Cleveland rockers the James Gang, was one of the templates for '70s American blues/boogie rock. While there's no denying that cuts like the aforementioned iconic riff monster and the driving "Woman" are full of long-haired, shirtless, amps-on-11 abandon, there are a number of ...

So What music CDs
$16.05 The haunting bagpipes, a shiver of strings behind them...you can almost feel the cool fog rolling in from the sea, and across a Scottish field. A battlefield, in this case, in the year 1314. It was then that a band of half-starved, hopelessly outnumbered Scottish patriots fought for freedom at a place called Bannockburn. John Horner's soundtrack to "Braveheart," the Mel Gibson film about that epic struggle, is a lustrous, many-faceted, at times stirring piece of work. Even without the images from the film dancing through your head, Horner's themes have staying power and emotional substance. He maintains the feel of place throughout, but never relies too heavily on obvious instrumental cliches (the pipes, for instance, are used sparingly). No doubt, tracks like "The Battle of Stirling" will resonate a bit more if you've seen "Braveheart." That said, Horner's score has a rare quality: It is cinematic, but ...
