(42 Customer Reviews)
Following the release of their 1996 debut CHESHIRE CAT, Blink 182 returns with a satisfactory sophomore effort. Clearly influenced by the likes of Green Day and Weezer, Blink 182 provides fast, aggressive punk that is also melodic and fun. The trio's lyrics are filled with the angst and alienation that teens can relate to, while injecting humor also. "A New Hope" is an ode to Princess Leia and the Star Wars gang, while "Waggy" is a word bassist Mark Hoppus came up with while belching. Hard-core fans of the band will not be disappointed, as "Degenerate" is a re-recording from their demo tape, and "Lemmings" is from a split 7". All the songs on the record are catchy and infectious and hit single potential abounds. The musicianship is also there, as the chops are tight and worthy of comparison to any great punk band. Overall, DUDE RANCH proves the continued viability of punk-pop in the late '90s.
Recorded at Big Fish Studios, Encinitas, California.
Blink 182: Tom DeLonge (guitar, vocals); Mark Hopper (bass, vocals); Scott Raynor (drums).
Additional personnel: Mark Trombino (piano, keyboards); Scott Russo.

Dude Ranch album
$10.35 Though NOFX have stuck closely to their powerhouse hard-and-fast pop-punk sensibility since their inception in 1983, their focus, chemistry, and songwriting skills improved steadily over the years, and '94's PUNK IN DRUBLIC is arguably their finest moment. If not for their in-your-face punk aesthetic, NOFX would qualify as a fine power-pop band. A knack for harmonies and deft, melodic hooks (which are seemingly tossed out left and right throughout the album) are no small part of the band's success, as the anthemic ...

| | Blink 182 Enema Of The State CD (1999) Enhanced CD
Dude Ranch music CDs
$10.55 Blink 182 embodies all the rock & roll verities, from savage, power chord-driven, guitar-bass-and-drums attack to a carefully cultivated tastelessness (see album title and cover art), bolstered by plenty of attitude (the abundance of tattoos doesn't hurt either). The band's post-Green Day pop-punk leaps out of the speakers with zero subtlety ...
| | Blink 182 Cheshire Cat CD (1994) (Import) Reissue; United Kingdom
Dude Ranch songs
$7.35 After releasing a number of 7" singles over the years, Blink 182 offers CHESHIRE CAT, its full-length album. The San Diego based group (that started out as El Cautro and the Caj'ones) has honed its playing, songwriting, and surfboarding skills to create a fun record for all. Punky and melodic, CHESHIRE CAT is a great party album. The pace rarely lets up and the songs don't wander too far stylistically, but nothing exceeds like excess!
"Does My Breath Smell?" is a funny tune of teenage ambivalence. Furiously fast, the song begs one to get up and ...

| | Blink 182 Take Off Your Pants And Jacket CD (2001) Digipak
Dude Ranch CD music
$11.99 Older and more successful but no less fascinated by the same things as their adolescent fan base (toilet humor, sex, and awkward social situations), Mark, Tom and Travis greet 2001 with another platter's worth of chugging guitar riffs, infectious hooks and plenty of moxie. The album opens with the sequel to the last cut on ENEMA OF THE STATE. "Anthem Part II" is a generational rant focusing on the hopelessness felt by teens taken lightly by the world because of their age. Blink 182 does a fine job tapping into the universal theme of unrequited love ("Story Of A Lonely Boy"), divorce ("Stay Together For The Kids") and surviving the social perils of high school cliques ("Give Me One Good Reason").

Dude Ranch songs
$19.79 STACIE ORRICO was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
Exclusive Asian version contains a bonus AVCD with three videos (compatible with all DVD players)--"Stuck," "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life," and "I Promise"--as well as a photo gallery and nine bonus audio cuts.
Despite coming from a Christian music background, Stacie Orrico makes a full-fledged splash into the secular world with a self-titled album that puts her squarely amongst the Mandy Moores and Jessica Simpsons of the teen pop world. Like her secular sisters, Orrico has a big voice that fits hand-in-glove with the dance-pop template of this outing. The big difference is that this talented 16-year-old co-wrote a good percentage of these songs, which deal with weightier matters like the idea of life after death (the acoustic guitar-mottled "Hesitation") and spiritual beliefs (the soaring "Strong Enough"). Even Orrico's breakout single "Stuck" does an impressive job of intelligently addressing heartbreak in a way that's struck a chord with teenage girls everywhere. Reminiscent ...
