Kansas at their rocky best
This is a brilliant album. The guitar work by 'the inspector' is second to none, particularly on Silhouettes in disguise, We're not alone anymore, Three pretenders and Tomb 19. It's a pity the follow up to this comes nowhere near in comparison. If you like Kansas with plenty of guitar this is the album for you!

KANSAS POWER
VERY PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THIS EFFORT--I WOULD SAY THAT AT LEAST 6 OF THE 10 SONGS SHOULD BE KEEPERS FOR ANY GREATEST HITS ALBUM--IT WAS VERY CLOSE TO THE GROUP'S EARLIER FINE EFFORTS

Beyond "The Point Of Know Return"....
Kansas is among my perennial favorite bands and this production does not disappoint. This was a pleasant discovery when I found it and without question, a sophisticated stand-out album from the 1980's worthy of their name sake. Along with Steve Walsh, Rich Williams, Phil Ehart and Billy Greer, the additional writing and performing influence Steve Morse brings to the group is very refreshing and stands on it's own merit.
IMO the same can be said for the next CD recording that followed ; "In The Spirit Of Things" which retained the same core group of individuals and production quality. I can also heartily recommend that CD to anyone truly interested in expanding their Kansas discography...
Each incarnation of Kansas with revised personnel ads it own personality and I believe should be appreciated for what it represents; an evolution of the original group that takes on a life of it's own. Any 'dyed in the wool' Kansas fan will find lots to enjoy within these tracks. It also makes a great CD for cruising down the road as so many other Kansas CD's do!!
