By the mid '70s, Detroit rocker Bob Seger had built a solid fanbase with non-stop touring, but had yet to score that final breakthrough hit that would shoot through to the mainstream. Like so many other rock acts of that decade (Kiss, Peter Frampton, Cheap Trick), Bob Seger used the live album format to serve as his much sought-after commercial breakthrough, 1976's LIVE BULLET. Having released a total of eight studio albums between 1968 and 1975, Seger had quite a bit of material to chose from for this live set, and only the best tracks were included. Highlights include the uptempo rocker "Katmandu," the working musician's touring tale of "On the Road Again" (a song that Metallica would make a hit in the late '90s), and "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man." After LIVE BULLET, Seger duly issued a string of best-selling albums did a series of sold-out arena tours.
Recorded live at Cobo Hall, Detroit, Michigan on September 4 & 5, 1975.
Personnel: Bob Seger (vocals, guitar, piano); Drew Abbott (guitar, background vocals); Alto Reed (alto, tenor & baritone saxophones, percussion, background vocals); Robyn Robbins (piano, organ, Clavinet, Mellotron); Chris Campbell (bass, background vocals); Charlie Allen Martin (drums, background vocals).
Just a quick caveat. This is indeed a good remaster of a great live album, but don't be fooled. This isn't the miniature album reproduction: I bought this; It's just the standard cd case edition. Submitted by Richard (San Francisco, CA USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Live Nutbush Sucks I liked the album except for the live version of Nutbush, my favorite Seger song, which is interupted by talking. Submitted by jjgrossfarms (Arbuckle, CA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 2 of 3 found this helpful.

Take a deep breath, you'll need it. A must-have Bob Seger album. Nearly non-stop rock 'n roll covering most of his early career. You can't stay still. Submitted by Ron (P.C. Florida) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo 2 of 4 found this helpful.
