Although Steve Miller had been rocking and rolling since the late 1960s, he experienced some of the greatest chart success of his career during the mid-1970s, as exemplified by this GREATEST HITS 1974-1978 compilation. Nearly all 14 of the album's tracks have become classic rock radio standards over the years.
This period in particular saw Miller streamline his early blues rock sound into something more mainstream-friendly. With not a single weak track in the bunch, the creme de la creme would have to include the tasty rockers "Jungle Love," "Take the Money and Run," "Rock N' Me," "The Joker," "Fly Like An Eagle," and "Jet Airliner."
All tracks have been digitally remastered by Steve Hoffman.
Recorded at CBS Recording Studios, San Francisco, California.

| | Mascots Ellpee CD (1967) (Import) United Kingdom
Greatest Hits 1974-1978 album
$21.45 Swedish pop quartet The Mascots recorded the English-language ELLPEE in 1967, displaying their Beatles and classical music influences.
The Mascots had a reputation for doing some of the best faux British beat-style music to come out of Europe during the 1960s, but one can't fully appreciate how good they were at it until one hears this album. Issued in 1967 and intended to appeal to the English-speaking market, it includes a few single sides intermixed with tracks done especially for 12" release, and the results are kind of eerie, mostly because they are done so well in a British beat mode by musicians who are obviously coming to the music from the outside. The fuzz-laden rockers ...

Greatest Hits 1974-1978 songs
$18.99 What I said...I was born in Cincinnati, OH 1963, although I don't remember that...Moved to Naples, FL in 1973, by parents who were looking for sinus relief.Played in a few bands in and out of high school, most fondly remember after high school, Youth In Asia (say it fast, get it?), a band with a punky new/wavy kind of sound...that's when I got my first taste of how good it felt to front a band, even if it was in two-toned hair and leather pants! And I'll bet you didn't know that "band fronting" actually had a taste.Worked at record/music stores out of high school, then for a pool service company (I was the first female supervisor they ever had, I am woman, hear me snore)! I think that was when I first started wearing a sports bra, too...Met Stephanie Callahan in 1989 at a softball tournament (uh, oh, you know what that must mean...) and formed Halcyon. (out of Play-Doh at first, but it didn't stand up well to the FL heat).Moved to Tampa in 1990 to have access to a more metropolitan area for the music. (Yeah, it was just for the music).Worked steady and partied hard for a large, devoted following that continues to this day. The following, and the partying.Being in Halcyon has enabled me to travel the entire country many times over, including Alaska, and even did some extremely well received gigs in England. (It was nice to meet a real queen!) I've done festivals, cruises, TV, radio, office parties and even horse tracks! After 18 years, I seen and done an awful lot. Someday, I hope to tell Oprah all about it.Hobbies and things I like: cooking/good food/cool restaurants/wine/craft beer/do I smell a pattern here?/water/boating/floating/beaching/weather/hanging in the back yard with something on the grill/yep, def. a pattern/art/ other people's music/What somebody else said...with interjections from me (in parenthesis) (isn't that cool? In parenthesis is in parenthesis!)...Deb Hunseder is a longtime Tampa Bay area favorite. (Favorite what)? She is highly popular as of the duo Halcyon with singing partner Stephanie Callahan, a collaboration which evolved from a chance meeting in 1989. (Chance meeting, is that what they call it these days)? They have played a wide array of shows– music festivals, benefits, bars, clubs, and even travel in Europe and Alaska, and developed a unique and fiercely loyal cadre (ooh, good word!) ...
